I've only seen a few of them here, but never in person. It's a neat little thing; a guilt-free addition to a stock car.

Super excited because I fixed my radio lights. The display worked OK, but the buttons did not illuminate. Fritz hooked it up with a new-to-me stock radio.

Added some coin holders in the button blanks. They're pretty cool.

Thanks! It's in a good spot now, since it's basically stock with better cooling. Just driving and fiddling with little stuff and crossing a few things off the list.

Installed one of Levy's awesome wide gas pedals. Will follow up with the dead pedal, and slowly working out a boost gauge install.

For those shots I used a stiff plastic brush and some simple green. I later went back with a toothbrush. I think either way is fine.

The base lip does flow better with the front of the car and the 90's smooth theme. Even at stock ride height I scrape the r1 lip sometimes, which didn't happen almost ever with the base lip. Might check back in on that after I drop the ride height. For now, I'm enjoying the r1 lip.

Passed smog. Bought some cool old comic books. Not real wise about it, just like the graphics and colors and subject matter.

Driving some. Been way too busy. But never too busy for foot-luxury.
Ordered some savage new glow-in-the-dark Kobe's, so I can cross people over at the office.
I was on the fence about the Levy Corp dead pedal, but after installing it I'm in love.

Scored a new dojo for the vehicle. Installed a cool sticker. Washed it up. Still needs a detail job, and some details (can't unsee those center caps).

I looked at replacing my base lip on my white FD. I ended up getting an R1 lip for it. For some reason I thought the base lip was NLA from Mazda. Did you order new or just replace it with one you had on the car previously?

I ended up buying 2 new R1 lips. Also a couple good blankets for when I’m done freshening up the car.

I considered getting a new base lip, which are apparently cheap and available from Ray. But, I went ahead and got a new R1 lip. Of course, then you need the r1 brake ducts...

Like the new dojo and car looks great. The purple paint on both the 67-68 Impala and the 72-73 Caddy in the same place is pretty cool. So's that pickup.

Thanks, Gordon. That Weinerschnitzel always has awesome cars...

Mini-update. After I installed the boost gauge I could verify I was running low boost. Quite a fork in the road of FD ownership. I thought it would be best to turn to a pro. Took it to Rick @ Rick's Performance, who sorted things out no big deal.

The original owner was well intended and serviced the car regularly but not by a specialist. At some point they replaced the wastegate/precontrol lines without putting the boost pills back. So, I was short a couple psi. Also, I had made a patch repair in the pressure system that was not up to Rick's standards, so he put it back to stock plus silicone. I think my rubber line had popped off and was hurting secondary transition. Back to 10-8-10 now. Feel good hit of the summer.

The stock fd is such an awesome car when everything is working in harmony. There's nothing quite like it.

"The stock fd is such an awesome car when everything is working in harmony. There's nothing quite like it." Ain't it da truth? I honestly think often about how nice my car was when it was completely stock. If I had a much bigger garage, I think I would add a stock FD.

Also, I lovce the 1600/2002 in Nevada or Sahara beige.

Love the telephone dial wheels and what's tht little red car? Is that an R1/2/3?

Thanks, the wheels are from Mazdaspeed/Rays and were a dealer option in Japan. Actually, the wagon-hatch was intended to be a dealer option too, from what I gather.

The little red-ish car is a BMW 2000tii touring that's been souped up a bit, with the old m3 2.3l mill and wide body kit. The touring hatches never made it stateside. But, I know a group of folks who take great pride in transplanting them here.

A picture of the boost gauge install. The unlit gauge is water temp. It's wired up, but I'm waiting to tap a new thermostat housing at the machine ship for the sensor. I understand there are other easier/more-common options, but I prefer that location.

Installed new door handles, lock trims, key flappers, flappers springs, and the driver's side keyhole light. There's $250 spent that adds $500+ in value/satisfaction. Here are a couple threads:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/driver-side-keyhole-plastic-shutter-replacement-1118605/

I'm a crimper, but it's too tight for crimps and you wouldn't want to start chewing up the harness side wires. So, there's a good chance to practice some easy soldering for the bulb wires. Got the grain-of-wheat bulbs at Fry's.

And, most of a wash and wax. Need to finish the wax tomorrow evening. The paint is in great original condition, but on a real camera or from 10ft in you can tell it's original(wash worn). I'd love to cut/polish/ceramic the car. But, wax will have to hold it for now. If someone does good with our other car, or my recommendation for the hatch paint works out they can have a shot at restoring the FD paint. No big rush, but on the list.
