There are FD-specific brackets which mount the seats. The seats themselves have flat-bottom slider rails.

I see. So if I get a set of the seats, I need to make sure they have FD brackets and not Miata or something?

Yes, the Miata brackets are more common. The brackets are labeled "FD[1-4]" or "NA[1-4]" and the LH/RH sets are different, so you'll need to make sure you get a set of each side. They're not impossible to find on YAJ or parts groups, but you'll need some patience. I think the market is around $350-500usd per side for the mounts.

Here's a set of the right side mounts: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp...on/c1064566138

Awesome. Thank you. I just missed out on a nice set of red seats though. Kicking myself for not putting the deposit. The search goes on.

Got this Techtom MDM 100 off YAJ. It plugs into the diagnostic port and reads a bunch of data and diagnostic codes from the stock ECU. Basically the same stuff from the FC Commander. Pretty neat. Not showing any codes, so that's good.

^ That's awesome! Does it show boost and/or AFR?

Not OP but it definitely won't show AFR. It's for a stock ECU to display what it outputs. The shop manual shows the old Mazda tool that would display a ton of outputs, same deal.

Since there's only a narrowband O2 sensor as far as the ECU knows that's gonna be it. It may show O2 voltage or O2 swings but I think that would be as good as it got.

Boost could be possible though, probably in kg/cm2 or just a voltage reading.

BTW score on the MDM-100, I wanted one of those back in the day. They've always been rare and they have to be CRAZY rare now.

It does show boost pressure, and O2S volts. But, as Dale mentioned, it doesn't have wideband ability.

Here's the list of what it will measure:

It's definitely fun. I think it will work with the Pettit ecu I have, but if I ever go PowerFC then I think I'll have to pass it on.

@DaleClark did you like the KS EBS boost controller you used a while back? I've got one on the way, and thinking about making it work.

It was neat, it does allow you to control the stock boost control solenoids. Sometimes though you are still at the mercy of the stupid factory setup with the restrictor pills - you have to drill out or re-size pills to get control, etc. It works best with a VERY lightly modified car to increase or stabilize boost control. If you have a full open exhaust or something you really need an aftermarket boost controller.

But, hands down, it gets mad points for being very OEM-ish, very 90's JDM, and a well made part. It just has limitations due to the goofy system Mazda cooked up.

Thanks a lot. Glad people enjoy it. Been hiding in plain sight

Definitely going to hang on to the MS-02's. If anything I'd get something else cool and swap back and forth. Not sure what's next for bodywork. I've got a few ideas in mind, but original stuff is getting so expensive and hard to find. Some stars are going to have to align for me, I think.

Clearly haven't had time to install this yet. But, I thought y'all might enjoy checking out the Knighsports EBS IV boost controller setup I scored off of YAJ. One of the systems came with the column clam shell (which I think is super classy) and the instructions, and I saw a spare system for dirt cheap (just in case I need spare parts or such).

It comes with a harness jumper, and works with the stock solenoid system. So, it should be low key and relatively plug-n-play. Keeps things nice and OEM+ so maybe Johnny Law will leave me alone. Got some wiring to figure out, and I want to mount the brain box somewhere hidden.

Driving the car a little bit, but the weather is less awesome this time of year. Haven't had much time to mess with it. I have a few things to install and a few things to do. My first pass at rebuilding the shift indicator was a bust. Turns out I need to level up my soldering skills. I'm doing some arduino breadboard stuff in my spare time. It's fun to mess with electronics if you don't mind occasional second degree burns. I need to take out my cluster and send it out for repair, which will shut the car down for a week or two. I've got those driveline braces to install and I want to re-do the suspension. But, that'll be a pretty spendy project between the coilovers and bushings and time. Slowly preparing to refurbish the fuel system, so we can turn up the boost and put the intake and intercooler on. Got a SBG baffle, thinking of which pump to order for a stock car, and eyeballing the wiring needed. Plenty to keep busy with and bring you picture of.

Would like to get the car to a couple shows before I shut it down, since it's running nice right now. Probably going to get a compression tester and see how the original engine is faring. Seems like the

That MDM-100 is really cool, I'd love to see if you can catch a video showing ignition timing and MAP or RPM during a full throttle pull.

FYI the two jumper harnesses in your picture look like they are for the newer 16-bit JDM ECU, but the USDM 1993-1995 one has a different connector with only two rows of pins. I assume your car is running the USDM ECU.

Ah thank you. I am running an 8 bit ecu. Wonder if I can find the right adaptor or make a jumper harness. I'll try to get some video of the MDM-100.

As luck would have it there was an 8 bit version available on YAJ, which will get here eventually (with bonus 8 bit reflashed ECU!). I guess I'll double check the pinouts and see if I can mix'n'match the brains and harnesses. Wonder if I can get knightsports to reflash that for me. That might be better than my old Pettit ECU. I'm sure the Pettit is fine, just a bit mysterious since they revised the versions and I doubt I'll figure out if it's speed limited or not, since I don't want to go that fast on public roads.

Been distracted with this thing. Building a Kyosho Scorpion with the fam. Think we're going to do a basic stock brushless 2S build.
Studio desk in the background has been fun, but need a real server rack. The desk is depth and space limited, so I can't get too crazy with blades or space.

Thanks, guys. It's complete, but one of the lenses is cracked and it needs some fiberglass work. Will take some time to work that out, but definitely excited to work through it.

Finally got my MS D-cut wheel set up. Almost got the wheel herd totally thinned out...
Weather stinks. Need to hop on the other projects and get ready for spring driving.

RC car is coming along. Just needs paint.

Just got a huge convex Broadway mirror, because racecar. Thought you guys would like my "Fragile" sign.

The old gear indicator had lost a segment. I finally soldered up a new one, red instead of white. Took me two tries to realize it was common anode and not common cathode. Wonder if the first one would have worked? I thought my soldering sucked. Live and learn.

I picked up another bumper. Going to pull some molds and do some fiberglass repair some time this century. I've got a nice pair of lenses between, and all the other fiddly bits.

Need to do some more wiring and get some ECU's reflashed (I now have like 3 Knightsports ECUs and EBS systems). Really want to finish these bumpers. Some other little projects...more pictures later?
