Thank you guys. It's all the work of Irperformance. Reading and watching what they can achieve, I knew I had to send the car to them.

I'm excited to get it back for sure.

 

Had a blast with the car at Deals Gap Rotary Rally. We had to replace the oil restrictors though because there is a lot of blow by in both the hot and cold side of the intercooler piping collecting around the silicone couplers. I'm monitoring the car to see if the new custom oil restrictor bolts that Irp made will help out. Fingers crossed.

Great result with the BNR, I agree about the Tan interior, just look so good with dark exterior like MB and BB.

 

Pretty satisfied with the power the BNR turbos put out with the tune IRP performed on the car. The wife drove it to work today. So I'll get to hear what she thinks about it.

 

I just purchased a few things for the transmission. I got a C's Authentic short shifter, a r-magic brass shifter collar, and a feed shift ****.

The brass shift collar and feed shifter came in from rhd Japan. The shift **** feels a tad heavier then stock and feels great in my hand. I'm now waiting on the C's short shifter to install everything.

 

Just received the C's Short shifter from 1ga and greatly appreciative of his services and quality parts at competitive prices.

So, Shout out to him.

It took me a bit of time of trial and error since their are no instructions that I could find or pictures.

If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to explain the process.

I was also disappointed that the brass r-magic shifter collar didn't fit. Its too loose on both the oem and c's short shifter. I'm going to order the aluminum collar from Atkins Rotary.


The Feed Heavy weight shift **** feels amazing in my hand and shifting with the C's short shifter. Its rigid, stiff, and clicks in.

Now Pettit Racing cut the OEM shifter and called it their "short shifter" equals bogus

 

I think the aluminum collar may be a bit too harsh. Really, I'd just get the stock plastic one. It works great, it's easy to get, doesn't cost much, and will last you a good 10-15 years.

You drove my car at the Dragon and I have an all stock shift setup and none of the bushings are that new, I probably replaced them 12 years ago. Still feels tight and nice.

I reused my bushing I replaced 2 years ago. And your right it'll be enough. I was super impressed with your shifter assembly and how well it felt.

 

Would anyone please explain to me why the compressor wires on the top sensor would be looped or cut?

 

The new custom lines came in today. We reused some of the original piping that was still in good shape to re-use. They were pressure tested, cleaned up, and modified a bit more to not have any kinks.

The two lines going to and from the compressor are brand new crimped rubber lines with the old fittings welded on.

The line going to the drier with the sight glass was straightened out a bit more for a better flow, cleaned and pressure tested.

The line going from the drier to the condenser was the worst. It had all sorts of questionable bends and kinks that we made a completely brand new line with welded on fittings.

From the quick test fit I did, everything seems to be looking good. I'm going to start installing them now.

 

The rubber and aluminum lines are installed with the new drier. I have a 4 seasons drier coming in tomorrow that I'll probably be using instead.

Johnny, it was but there were some leaks in metal and the rubber lines along with the compressor pulley seal.

So I had a hose and hydraulic shop replicate the custom vmount lines. Saturday is when I'll have it vacuumed for freon.

 

I commend you in your quest to get working A/C gerald...... also, you're gonna love that C's short shifter. Super rare and the price on them keeps going up. Wish I would've kept the last one I had but I'm rocking a Mazdaspeed unit and lovin' it

 

So my onslaught towards cold blowing A/C might be a bit hysterical or over the top.


I do have cold A/C but only when I'm cruising high speeds, in the rain, and when the temperature outside is below mid 80s

I don't believe the air is cooling the condenser as well as the intercooler or the radiator where the radiator fans underneath are extracting the heat at a fast 2700 cfm's combined.


I am currently installing a Spal Fan that has a true 708CFM's that I'll be mounting on top of the condenser pulling air from the main mouth of the car where the Radiator receives most of the air flow.

I am almost considering buying a second fan because it actually might fit. The condenser measures a rough 10x24 and is meeting the intercooler towards the rear at a sloped angle. It starts getting tighter towards the back so i needed a small depth fan.


Yes the hot condenser will be blowing air onto the intercooler.

So that's a puller on top of the condenser? Are you planning to wire it so it doesn't run the same time as the radiator fans?

It could be switch activated and run direct from the battery. The stock fans draw a lot of current. Might not be awesome to piggyback on that, and you'd have to sort out which of the 4 fan wires kicks on at low speed.

 

Well if you have pullers on top of the condenser and bottom of the radiator, and if they come on together the air is not going to move very well since both sets of fans are pulling air to the opposite direction. Even if you have a pusher on top, a pusher puller combo is generally a bad idea anyways, you are not really getting more CFM then just running the stock fans. You best bet is get fans with higher CFM, RX-8 fans maybe? Or look into better ducting.

If Jacob can get his A/C to blow cold in his V-mount config with just stock fans then you should be able to do the same with the GReddy.

 

I'm going to connect it to the battery power supply and have the line with its own fuse and relay. No switch

To relay= ground, batt12v, turn on lead from high speed fan wire.

From relay= ground?, fan turn on wire
