Coming along nicely. Well thought out builds are always fun to follow, and helpful. I'm still gathering parts before I tear mine down so I can enjoy it until that day, but I'll start a thread too. What color are you painting the car?

Are you wanting to go with the original Mazda teal, or something custom?
I was wanting to stay similar to my original paint, but change the color to something more unique. Sticking with a Mazda color, I chose Velocity Red Mica. It's a tricoat with an orange pearl, and I will put four coats of pearl on it. I already did this to my new light covers to test out the color, wet sanded them with 2000, 2500, and 3000 grit. I'm very happy with the color.

The amount of metallic looks somewhere in between these two pics in person. The thing that's hard to see in any pics is the color flop from dark red to bright orange red. I'll have to paint a bigger panel to show that more. You can also look at other Mazdas painted that color OEM, but the 4 coats of pearl and wet sanding adds a lot of depth to it.
