Quichedem's '93 Resurrection Money Pit Track Day Build
#51
I was talking about the "cap" in the forward end of the beltline molding, closest to the rear view mirror. I think it's plastic. Ray sells these. Just call the dude up, explain a part, and (if it's still in stock anywhere) Ray will get it at a better price than you will find anywhere online.

Been steadily working on...everything.
I have been posting more stuff to Instagram. There I have outlined the short block rebuild, new/rebuilt BNR turbos, and various other updates.
In the beginning of next month (June), I will have a rebuilt short block (long story), rebuilt transmission, and a brand new Excedy twin carbon plate clutch - all assembled. In the mean time, I have ben trying to get everything done in the engine bay that I can before the engine and all arrives.
With that said, I am going complete manual brakes. This is everything from the pedal assembly to the caliper. I ordered the brake components from Tilton, the brake line and fitting from Fedhill, and some other hoses and fittings from Summit. I started by designing the bracket assembly in CAD and making templates for the side plates and cross members that the pedal assembley will bolt to:
It looks "tall" right now, as I have to trim some off of the bottom of the side plates. The Al false floor is temporary, and I have a full FB/CF false floor "tub" planned for the future.
Next up was plumbing everything up. In order to do this, I needed an idea of where everything needed to be, so I ordered a seat. Around Christmas, I received an OMP steering wheel, so I ordered a QR Sparc hub, and began fitting everything up.
I ordered an OMP halo seat, and planted bracket. The planted bracket had the seat too high and forward for the seat to properly fit, so a few things needed to happen. First, I cut my crappy roll bars out (believe me, they were crap), and started "editing" my planted bracket to get the seat where I needed it. Here an empty driver side and my cleaned-up passenger seat:
Now, I have been plumbing the brake system:'
Custom reservoir braket.
Interior custom braket "prototypes" to hold the unions between flex hose and hard line:
Finally, a little peek of the Moonface LCA and Nagisa UCA on the PS:
Hopefully, I will have all the brake plumbing done by the end of Memorial day. If your're in the military, thank you for your service!!!

Thanks! I was on track to have this thing running by October, but decided to put a professional certification ahead of that for now. With the delay, my new plan is to get it running in the first few months of next year (2020), with a full A/C system. More recent pics are on Instagram (@brokebecausefd), but I intend to make some updates on here with more detailed content.
