TN Puzzle Build

Puzzle piece one arrived today.. The place I bought it from sent me pictures and then for some reason decided to silicon spray everything under the hood after I told them I wanted it. I won't be using the motor just some of the stuff on it. Here are a couple pictures. Guessing this is a 1994...

Hoping the roller and the engine/transmission get here early next week. I plan to paint first then start putting the car together.

No im not doing LHD. Thats about all that will be for sale off the clip. I need the fenders, headlights and lots of the miscellaneous stuff that mine is missing. Spare motor and trans doesn't hurt either. The hood and nose may go up for sale eventually too all that will be down the rod after i figure out what i need.

I also had the whole 4 door truck loaded to the gills with trim and parts to the point where it was hard to see out of.... Stuff was actually sliding out of the passenger seat into my lap driving...

Should be easy to do a complete color change at least as there is hardly anything attached.

Im thinking about painting it white, a little late eighties early nineties out of nostalgia...

Got most of the rest of the interior out and the doors pulled off. The whole time i am thinking i should have bought the color i wanted instead of doing a color change.... Its gonna be a ton of work... Oh well just going to take more time. I have the headliner and the passenger side wiring to take out and the a piller covers.

This car obviously started out red, but it has been yellow, blue, white and back to red. The layers are flaking off anywhere you can get a fingernail under it. I have been using a plastic windshied tool to chisel it off. I think I can get the majority off without using any sandpaper... I know a guy that will come out and sand blast it but he just uses sand. Wish i could find someone that uses soda..

Going to have to take the front and rear glass out too in order to do it right but I am running out of safe places to put stuff. I store bulk product in the back of my shop and make hydraulic hoses back there so i have to be careful to keep fragile stuff out of the way.

Well i found a guy that soda blast so I have a appointment for the week after the fourth. Still stripping the car to get it ready. It takes a while they used 2 billion clips to run the wires in these cars and I am trying not to damage them taking them out. I am a little nervous to spend a bunch of money on the body as there has been a hold up on the title.... The guy i bought it from had signed the title but never registered it so i am waiting on the paperwork monster to go through. The car ismprobably just going to be a weekend driver occasional autocross car so I am not planning anything too exciting. I got a set of bigger injectors with the motor but i am going to stay with the twins or maybe bnr stage III's. Upgraded radiator, Ic, exhaust came with the car, and i got half a set of tiens with the jdm cut. I picked up a Adaptronics and a rear seat from members on here (I have a 2 year old I need to transport on occasion). Hopefully some pictures soon when it goes to the blaster.

Looking at getting the seats recovered in the seude look of my front seats. I have a set of sides coming in with FDNewbie's next shipment. The seats came out of Canada thanks to 92BlackFD and the Adaptronics from 0110-M-P.

Still disassembling the car... It looked stripped when I got it but I don't think I even imagined what it takes to strip one down completely. I'm guessing I will have 20+ hours in taking it apart when I am done from where it started mainly do to trying to remove the clips without breaking them taking 5 mins each.

Ok red car is on hold as far as the build goes.... Still waiting on the title.... I dont know for sure where I am going to go with this build anymore. I bought a silver 93 with 95k on it from a guy in Chicago a few weeks ago and have been putting some of the parts In the silver car (exhaust, radiator, rear seat, adaptronics ecu, short shifter, and brakes). It has a mazda reman with a little over 20k on it and turbos replaced by mazda with new units 30k ago. The PO drove it 5k in 12 years of owning it... Had a jdm downpipe (strange homebrew exhaust after that) pettit springs, keyless entry system, and a boost gauge as the only mods. I have the streetported 13b with RX8 E shaft, lightweight flywheel, act clutch, 20k since rotary res rebuild that i planned to use in the red car that is really tempting to drop in. Motor is running strong and Im having such a blast driving it I doubt I will take it down long enough to do the swap. I am kinda leaning toward keeping the silver car fairly stock and just drive it as is and building the red car as more of a out right autoX car.

Interesting place for a boost gauge has now been moved...

Jdm console is alot shorter and is curved the wrong way so im going to cut down the stock one so the seat does try and make it pop up in the front.

That's a huge restrictor. I wonder if that was for fuel economy.
