Philippe's 93 Touring Build Thread
Hey everyone so I posted awhile back inquiring about this car. It was in Seattle and looked well taken care of at least from the pictures.
Anyway a week later I flew up to Seattle from LA and spent the whole day driving it and testing it.
Thanks to this forum I ended up going to a small shop called Mazda's only and had Jerry Wright take a look at her and doing a compression test. Told me that it was pretty much all in good shape other than a few minor things.
Learned from the dealer that this car was owned by an rich old gentlemen for 23 years and had babied the car most of the time and was always in a garage. The last 2 years the second owner did a few tasteful mods but also some crazy wiring that I know I'd probably be spending a whole month just trying to figure it all out. So I ended up making the deal and had them ship it down to me a week later.
First thing was to remove that old god forsaken phone on the center console.
Next I did it's first oil change with Castrol GTX oil and stock Mazda filter.
Than removed all old bulbs and replaced them with V-LED's and some SuperBrightLED's.
Than replaced the stock tail lights and replaced them with 99 Spec tail lights
Next thing I changed out the ancient HKS boost gauge for a ProSport Premium boost gauge
Since Seven Stock is around the corner I made a few purchases that will be put on later.
But went to Shine Auto and bought
Now I also just purchased 16X8 +38 RPF1's which shall be my temporary wheels until I can get the suspension setup to go up to a 17 wheel. With all my cars I either stay stock or downsize the wheel but not many good options with 16's.
I purchased Toyo Proxes R888R in 245/45/16 and hopefully those will last me for some decent time. Gonna try and get some track time with these.
Next plan when I have some time off will be to change
Anyway that's all for now I also have 3 other cars that I'm doing builds.
I have a 99 NB Miata
A 2013 Mazdaspeed 3
A 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road
I think you can see I have a problem when it comes to RPF1's lol. I'm trying to change that. Anyway hope to come back with a lot more pictures. I've had my camera at work most of the time so I ended up taking no pics,
Thanks for looking and hope to contribute as much possible to this forum!

- Spec-RE-Amemiya 05 Front Aero Bumper with Canards
- Spec-RE-Amemiya 1 Pro Rear Diffuser in Carbon
- A new Carbon Kevlar under tray since this car didn't come with one
- Carbon Fender Air Ducts
- RE-Amemiya Carbon Tail light cover
- Car Shop Glow LED Combo Lights
- Seibon Carbon Fiber ST-Style Hood

Next plan when I have some time off will be to change
- all the remaining fluids
- Spark Plugs
- Replace some of the old interior trim
- Troubleshoot some of this insane wiring that the previous owner did

Haha yeah I saw this car surprisingly sit for almost a year at the dealership so I Iow balled them. Couldn't believe that it sat there so long and was in such good condition. Glad you didn't haha. Thanks so much!

Well did a few updates today installed the diffuser and the Scoot type hood.
Purchased from Hot Water Labs there new pop up bi-xenon projector headlights.
Purchased a new cat back exhaust Apexi N1 Dual Muffler since current one seems to have a small hole on the underside. Also purchased aerocath hood pins for the hood.
Once the new front bumper comes in I'll be sending the car to a paint shop. Any good recommendations for shops in the torrance/long beach area or at least within 30 miles from those areas?
