Update
I haven't posted here for a long time now nothing new with my car its been the same for a wile now only maintenance after nearly 5 years of the last setup i had some issues with the exost liking air from the v clam after a smoke test and some hi oil temps only on idle so i had to investigate
So i took apart my manifold ( megan racing by the way ) and the turbo, downpipe plus external for inspection some cleaning as well. Manifold is holding perfect no cracks nothing after so much pitting The gaskets where gone lol i had to replace all off them so i got some garrett ones and 2 original ones for the block all the silicone vacuums where changed as well new v clam and vband from Precision Turbos and my wesgate was loss for some reason and i do not have a clue how long it was like that lolol fixed that as well .So i put everything buck on plus new Fiberglass Heat Exhaust Thermo Downpipe Wrap Shield Protection Tape and new stats as well for the manifold all 4 off them with some new screws and is super mint again.
I had the car on the lift so i changed all sparks as well and oil filter and oil this time i went with 15-50 from Amsoil and it was time to check what was the issue with the oil temps on idle
Even in summer time on days with 45c my car over 60km kept really cool on hiway and down town driving 83-85c even with a/c on and track use was maxing out after 5-6 laps drifting 110c but every time i was on the traffic lights the car was going from 83c to 115c in 45 seconds after the car was moving again the same.... So i started asking here and there how can i check this. As usual no one could help me so i had to figer it out on my own... I went and got a temp lazer gun and i was pointing it on my oil coolers the temps in the car was 115 and the gun 80 i was amazed ! So before i took anything apart i was asking and researching how much would the difference be from the gun to the actual temp off the oil . I got several answers most off them where telling me its ok its normal for it to have a difference off 20c coz u are hitting the surface but this got me thinking the oil cooler is made out off thin aluminium i dont think i would have so much difference plus it was black so there was not any reflection for the gun...After a chat i had with a friend on oil he said something that made sense u can not go from 83c to 115c in 45 seconds on idle with a 15-50 oil
plus the info on the ir gun i went and got a new oil temp gauge !!!
I was right !!! There is no much difference on the ir gun and the actual oil temp!! The difference was some close to 2-3c only !!! So dudes here is another easy way to check oil temps on the car
After all this it was time to hit the track i was very happy to see the car was amazing on spooling after sorting the down pipe the afr was spot on after a long time and the temps not only after 3-4 laps i was on 10 laps (2.3km) !!! temps was only 100c!!! loving it!!!
