Advise needed

Hi Mate

Sorry to disturb you, I have a few questions and I thought you are a best person to ask those questions from. Ummm, Are you running 03 04 MUSTANG COBRA IRS CENTER SECTION 3.55 8.8 31 SPLINE CARRIER axle??

Secondly, what do you think about the following
http://www.driveshaftshop.com/import...8-differential

Say If I source a Cobra 8.8 Diff, would this make the conversion plug and play, as I have already sourced a Diff Craddle-I am aware about the driveshat, so its not going to be a problem.

Any advise is much appreciated.

Cheers
Syed

Yup 03-04 3.7 8.8 31 Spline. The drive shaft shop is your best bet on axles. That will get you a plug and play combo with out the drive shaft....

Thanks

Thank you very much Sir. Your car is a big inspiration for me. I just love the way your FD looks and actually your FD, got me on the case of cobra diff and T56 gear box.

Is it ok with you, if I ask you questions regarding things on this thread or you would prefer a PM? I am saying this because, My next question will be regarding a gearbox.

Kind Regards
Mir

Small update,
Dressing up the turbo GT45rbb with some space age material ... Carbon Fiber ...

At the same time, i'm having a company make me a custom mesh stainless steel 3 layer disk type filter 25 micron, for my turbo. It will be wedged be twin the carbon fiber cone and the turbo inlet flange. That will serve as my turbo inlet filter. Reason... I'm unable to run a standard K&N type filter do to tight space.

The sub frame is supplied from pettit but build by rotary performance in Canada. Not sure how they are made now but what a POS!!!!, welds on it are junk, none of the holes were lined up at all. I had to strip clean, re-weld the hole sub frame. Re do the searing rack hangers ( they were way off).

Personally... i would advice people to stay away from that junk!!! Buy it at your own risk !!

The bump steer is handled by the custom outer tie rod ends. They are longer to accommodate the rack being lower, also running 19 inch wheels did help with that situation.

Thanks for the compliments.

i tought the frame looked familiar , cam is a good friend of mine , but sadly i have to agree with you on this one the frame is highly questionable , and whats up with the steering rack brackets one is higher than the other , was this done for clearance ?
i had custom tierods made as well but still have some issues , a lot of it can be "masked " with alignment , but its not the way it should be
i pm`d howard coleman regarding this ....the man is a suspension god
let me know how yours turns out
in any case , i think this is the most impressive built going on , on the forum right now
kudos

Why are you running a thermostat if you have an electric water pump?

Loving the build, and I was wondering if you could provide info on a couple of things (it would help me out greatly on my build).

1. Throttle cable and throttle cable holder on plenum: where did you get these, they look awesome

2. Wiggens clamps: I'm using Vanjen clamps by vibrant (I think pretty much the same thing), but I haven't seen any instructions anywhere, do you have a pic of how close a weld on flange is to the next pipe/flange that it connects to?
And are you using those on every connection? If so, how on earth do you install and remove the pipes? It seems like there would be no clearance to move them around to get them out of the little coupler that connects the two flanges (the coupler that sits underneath the purple clamp)

Thanks in advance

On wiggins clamps that coupler under the clamshell slides. If you want I can get you some pics of that. Basically you would slide the coupler on one end of the ferrulle on both sides all the way then place the pipe in place and slide the coupler over the other ferrule. Then secure it with the clamshell assembly (purple part)

to_slow What ecu are you running? Depending on the ECU you can use the PWM output to control the EWP pump speed.

The cable and and holder are LoKar units. The intercooler tubing has to be fabricated very close and straight for the claps to work, you don't have the same margin of error as couplings.

I'm running a Microtech, i do have a on/off switch for the pump. I will get a better warm up with a thermo and the pump running rather than waiting for the heat to transfer to a temp sensor and tell the pump to turn on. Hope that makes sense.
