I don't think I ever liked the Fortune kit until now. I think the paint is what does it for me. Nice FD sir.

Also, where did you get that RX-7 badge?

 

Thanks Blackadde! your assembling quite a machine yourself, amazing parts, really loving your FEED Cluster as well!

For the RX7 badge, I bought the rear oem RX8 and Cx7 emblems from Ray and then combined the RX and the 7 from both as the fonts are the same between the two. Thus giving me RX7 in Mazdas new font.

I then painted them flat black to match the theme of the car.

 

I done mummified your RX-8 R3 seats, please check your pm. ^^

I'm going to start my veilside project in the next year or so...i hope you don't mind me asking for the paint codes? The color you used is really the only color that has looked proper on that kit IMO.

Alright, time for some more R3 Recaro seat pictures!

So I unpacked the drivers side seat and did a mockup on the psg side just for the purpose of a picture, and too get an idea for the room.

I'm not stressing it at all at this point, it's a bit tight, but with the new rails will be no problem.

I also really like the grey centre in person, the pics don't do the seats justice. I have also scraped the plans to reupholster the centre red leather. I still plan to remove the airbags and all wiring however.

i'm a huge fan of your red door panels/interior?? Do you know if all these years, how they held up in terms of fade & vibrancy of the color? I heard red tends to fade quickly?

 

This project keeps getting better. Did you weigh the old seats and the R3 seats? What's the weight difference between the two?

I feel they have held up quite well, I bought them a few years ago and really cleaned them up, but haven't noticed any fading since I've owned them.

I haven't weighed them yet, plan to and will post the results, from lifting the two, It is my impression that the R3 seats are defiantly lighter.
