My "Blue Devil" matchbox racer build 2.0

Heh thanks dude, feel the same about your build! Trying to keep up the pace lol.
Minor setback, have to sell the daily and welder and I not seeing eye to eye on the cage again, hopefully all resolved by weeks end.
Also have a nice Treadstone intercooler on the way

Things had gotten way to busy with work, but a lot has happened and changed with the car. The cage was not at all how I wanted, so I ended up taking it to someone else to finish and salvage what was there. The turbo kit sold and in its place is something a little bit special...
Onto some pics! Lets start off with the widebody, new bumper, and RE carbon headlights.

Next up is the cage, the original guy didn't bend the tubes as tight as I asked so I am pretty limited on room. My buddy and I had to do some magic to get the seat low enough to have helmet clearance, I'm still not happy with it, but its now at a point I can live with it.
Some pics of the car at the shop getting the cage fixed and having the gusset plates welded in. The A-pillars, roof and C-pillars have the gusset plates.

Interior time!
I will never ever, ever... carbon wrap a FD interior again. What a massive pain in the ***! Anyways, after many angry hours matching up carbon weaves and trying not to bung up the edges, all the plastics are now carbon wrapped and I painted the cage black before putting the dash and doors back on. Before the center console went back together I also installed a new MGW short shifter, probably one of the best mods so far since the swap heh.
Dash + cage with gussets = lots of trial and error getting fitment to work. I am pretty happy with the end result, all heater vents work, wiring is serviceable, dash can be removed pretty quick and from first glance you don't notice cage from outside the car.
Onto pics! Because that is what we all like heh.
Money shots lol...

Battery clean up which was actually a lot of fun for me heh, and power to all gauges!!!
Replaced the factory bulbs with red LED's for some nicer light output.
Some goodies from Ken over at Shine!
- Carbon GT diffuser with center vents, and vortex generators
- Carbon lip spoiler
- Carbon side steps
The FD is awesome for transporting parts!
and maaaan does the new Camaro look HUGE!

Before picture and update overdose heh, I replaced the nasty original camber bolts, burped the new rad and got the car ready to be towed to the paint shop finally!
Before
After
And off to paint she goes!
Oh yea!
And I bought these to throw on the engine when its back from paint, in case you guys were wondering why I would get a hood like that...

I'm betting it sounds both loud and insane, once it is back from paint the trail fitting of the ITB's will begin.
Sold already.
I have Rotary Extreme headlights, so they are just like RE-Amemiya ones except they have all Hella lighting and HID. I had to cut away quite a bit of metal to fit the light brackets in there, but once the cover is on you don't see anything but the bulbs. This is my 5th set of lights I believe....
If it didn't rain so much where I live, I would have just sliced a hole in the hood heh. For a setup like this, or even if you run a NA 13B/20B a reverse cowl is best. I will be ducting similar to what Big Al on here did for his NA 20B. Nascars also run reverse cowl intakes heh.
Yup, all Ronin!
Thanks for the comments guys, I will be visiting it in the shop tomorrow to go over some details with the body guys. There is not a lot I can do until its back but the list post paint is:
- Throw out abs and install the new adjustable lines
- Install full Racing Brake setup and 929 MC and the brake ducts
- Install new Katech valve covers with coil relocation kit
- Install KRC PS pump with remote reservoir and adjustable flow fitting
- Install new toe and trailing arms in the rear
- Wire up switch panel
- New windshield
- Install Carbonetics 2-way
- Build a new exhaust
- ITB's and installing/tuning the stand alone (AEM or Haltech)
- New wheels....
And sell of any of the OEM parts replaced in the list above, along with my Work Wheels and HKS 4" race exhaust.

I was on the road lots when it was last put together and one colour, but its been a good year and a half or two since then. It should be back on the road this summer and hitting some local tracks and even some down south of the border in the fall.
Thanks Brent! Not quite at your cars level but should be something close when it's all done!

Some progress pics at the body shop below, still figuring out the gas cap... but its looking really good.
I am looking for a AEM ECU 30-1220 for my setup (it has been discontinued by AEM for some reason), if anyone knows of one for sale or can direct me to one for sale online it would be greatly appreciated!

Not a lot of progress as the car is in the shop for paint, located a ecu and some bodywork pics:
All panels have final fitment now, the Aerocatch pins are gong in next, and my rear fenders have been blended into the body. They also trimmed all the fenders to get the best wheel/tire clearance possible. I will have a hidden fuel filler cap keeping the body nice and clean.
Also picked up a set of RE-Amemiya AW-7's that need refinishing, but it looks like they are not going to fit my setup. Too bad as they have been a favorite wheel of mine for a while, will be up for sale soon for anyone interested.
Also picked up my sweet Bubble Tech footrest panel! A nice piece and it will look slick against the interior color combo.

Something LS9 like? lol it did cross my mind and one point heh.
I get that a lot, but it is pure function over form in order to run ITB's without just having them stick out the hood and risking sucking in crap all the time.
I think once its all one colour, it will be less of an eyesore to folks, if there was a decent filter option for ITB's that is not visually disgusting or not a intake hindrance, I'd run them out the hood, but no dice.
