yea thats what i was thinking about the button on the steering wheel. but volume acticated wont work, there is way to much noise comming from the engine, wastegate, and wind if the windows are down... may not sound loud with the helmat on since you have the padding around your ears but where the mic is i am not sure it will work...
make a write up of how you do it!! so i can fab something up myself!

Ill do a bit of a writeup on the radio a bit later. I have just been told I have less then 2 weeks before the garage is started so the car has to be mobile by then. Turbo is all on (bar the oil feed which Im sorting this week). Intercooler is done and should be back to me mid week. Then all I have to do is paint it, install it, few hose clamps and zip ties on boost lines and some fluids and it should start up lol.
Also brought some tyres =D

Started the car tonight =D.

Only a few minor issues I have found.
- Gasket on the turbo return had missaligled and missed a bolt icon_no2: . Put it on properly but its fucked and leaking so have to fix that.
- Alternator isnt charging. Checked the wiring and its all right, so will have to have a better look at this.
- The ******* motor after all this....is still not sitting on its pulse correctly. New ECU, New ignition system, New wireing....only thing it can be is the crank pickups....weird.
Other then that. The motor got good oil pressure really quick, there are no leaks anywhere else on the motor and it started first crank on a factory RX7 base map (running rather rich which is to be expected) so im not a total retard and got the wiring all right.
Could definitly have been worse!

Ya can sort of hear it in those vids. I've managed to sort it though.
So in the lat few days Ive:
-Fixed the oil return - new gasket
-Pulled the alternator apart and found that it was some powdercoat stopping it earthing. Ground it off and put it back together. Hello 14v
-Found a missing bolt in the water pump causing a leak...woops. Fixed
-Fixed the boost gauge (wasnt working due to a kinked line)
-Tuned the idle and let it warm up and run for a while - no leaks
-Installed the inner guards and sat the car on the ground for the first time in months.
The car idles nicly at 1500rpm and anywhere between 12.6 - 12.9 A/R but anything over 13 and it looses that strong pulsing idle.
Off to the tuner next weekend so looking foward to that.

strong pulsing idle because of the bridgeport, it sounds likes its got a decent pulse in the video, then it looses it and sounds smoother, then he revs it and the pulse comes back after the rev. He wants to have the pulse all of the time when he's not reving it.
Did you fix this by adding a little fuel or removing it?

haha Ill get that done this week. I just havnt had the walkie anywhere near me to take any detailed pics of it. Watch this space.
yeah thats bassicly the gist of the pulsing idle. Kinda was going brap brap brap baarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrap brap brap...like it was slightly missing or something. Managed to fix it by adding in a little fuel. At 12.8:1 its good and consistant and has good throttle response when bliping the throttle, at 13 it starts to do the above, and anything over 13.2 it just idles like crap and has poor response. So its bassicly just a tuning issue by the look of it. Ill leave that to the tuner to sort out. I just needed to get it idleing well enough to get it up to temp to check for leaks, fan control, etc etc.

Another area I have been having problems with is the brakes so I have been looking around at options and being that I am not made of money, most of the decent stuff is a little out of my league (AP, Brembo etc etc).
I was considering the D2 big brake kits and after a lot of looking, could not really find any real evidence against them. All the reviews I read were really good and a number of people have done a lot of racing Ks on them without any issues. That and the fact they are all replaceable with AP parts, I started looking for prices.
Long story short.......The New D2 importer in NZ is keen on some minor sponsorship, so I have ordered the front, rear and Hydroulic handbrake.
I am saving over a grand and just have to put his web site URL on the car somewhere for a year.
I went for 8pot front with 330mm discs, 6pot rears with 330mm discs so I can still run 17s if need be. Ill be inspecting the braided lines that come with them and replacing if the quality is not where it shold be, and running carbotech pads most likly.
Will be interesting to see what they are like.
Love the engrish
