Yes, Spirit R wheel. Slight scuffing on the Mazda logo, leather in perfect condition. Definitely looks better than the original one and matches the red trims elsewhere.
Great build, I recently purchased a 93 FD and was planning to build a Spirit R and came across your thread.
Just a question, where can I source the seats?
Hi, congrats on the pickup. There are different places to try and find them. I was able to pick some of from the forum here. I see some on ebay sometimes, sometimes on yahooauctions japan, craigslist, anywhere where car parts are sold. The hardest part is trying to find the OEM rails that go with the seats. Good luck on your search, they do pop up if you keep your eyes open.
Nice build! Brings me back 15 years when I had my RZ replica, although it appears the RZ clone is basically what every American CW FD owner does anymore imo. Steering wheel looks amazing for its' age, I would only touch mine in certain areas to prevent wear. Fun you posted switching the plastic trims for the boots, I remember thinking I was soo clever.
And although I haven't dredged through your entire thread, your BBS's are Spirit R not RZ. Sake at least got their copy correct with a recessed hub.
I was considering a few different sizes/offsets. (18x8.5 +43 up front 18x9.5 +45 rear or 18x8.5 +43 square).
Ultimately settled on the 18x8.5 +48 square as they were close to same offset as Spirit R (+50), but 18s instead of 17s and could run square and look stock-ish. Those were also in stock and could be air shipped versus waiting until they made me some new +43s/+45s and boat ship them. Would love to have mazda center caps

Also, did you have to remove the passenger seat to remove the e brake?
I don't believe I had to remove the passenger see to remove the ebrake. I think just the center panel from what I remember.
Slowly, gathering Spirit R brake parts, these came in from Mazda today (rear rotors), still waiting for other backorder parts/searching for them.
Beautiful! Do you have any advice on where I can buy genuine OEM RX7 FD parts? I'm going to be restoring a 93 FD and want it to look as close to brand new as possible eventually once I figure out all the mechanical side of things.
Don't know the exact answer, from searching the forum the Spirit R are 32 mm wide vs 22 mm on earlier models. 314mm x 32mm

Subscribed.
www.mazdamotorsports.com is where I have ordered some parts. Also checking the forums for sale section helps.
did you source the front drilled rotors from mazdamotorsports.com?
They are pretty. Yes, well so far just got one front rotor in today, talked with Mazda Motorsports today the other one is on a ship, hopefully will arrive soon. The front one is definitely thicker than the rear. One rear caliper showed up today too!
Not a whole lot of updates. A few days of rain this last month has kept her in the garage more than I would like but it did clear up enough to get smogged last week. Should be good for another two years.
