You guys kill me... these are set up pics. The car was in the air to get everything loose as i was setting camber as well. The wood attached to each wheel is flat on the ground. I'm not using the water bottles and the tale measures are on the ground now along with the rest of the car :-)

Also started doing a real alignment last night... if it doesn't drive straight after this.... I'm just taking it to a shop haha. But I spent a couple hours on just setting it up last night..hopefully today I can finish it. we'll see!

It took me 2 weeks to read this thread carefully. I've been reading it 3 pages at a time while at work, carefully deleting my browser history every time! First, congrats on your running fd and im sure youll get it running the way you want. You deserve this, you have so much patience and you bounce back every time something doesnt go to plan, great attention to detail too. You are making your fd be a reflection of who u are! great build thread. Hope you get the numbers you want, and im sure you will

Are you happy with those headlights? Thinking of ordering them myself, been searching for a decent set for a while, how'd the install go? Maybe I missed that part :o

Depends where you are here in Australia, some states are definately worse than others. I don't think you'd get away with wastegates pointed through the bonnet/hood of the car anywhere in the civilised world

Did you keep the factory fuel hard lines or run all new lines from the tank to the engine bay?

Hey thanks so much!! Im glad it held your attention! I love build threads so I wanted to make a thread that people could learn from and see some different aspects of the pretty routine single turbo car build Glad you liked it!! and Thanks for the support!

I am very happy with the headlights... truthfully install was a breeze. They made me some custom mounts because I had cut the frame to install RE sleek lights originally. The mounts they made me were very nice and added stability because so much material was missing from where they originally mounted. Visibility is good as well! They're awesome headlights and they look killer too!

Yes I am using the OEM fuel hard lines that run under the car. There was no need for me to upgrade other than pretending to be "Baller" which I'm not.. A lot of cars run in excess of 500 WHP with the OEM hard lines under the car... I didn't think it was necessary to upgrade

I've been to Cape town...It's gorgeous there... of course there are not so nice parts... particularly right behind the airport...(slums)... but Every place has their "not so nice places."

More updates soon. Going to be doing some Oil cooler ducting sometime this week!!! I love ducting

Are you going to weld in a bar to mount the bumper to and or take light impact?

It's my roommates actually. He owns the house. I don't know if i'ts the S or not.. It's a nice car though thats for damn sure.. But when he first got it he took me out in it and was like..... "Fast huh?"......I was like...."yeaaahhhhhhh about that... you havn't been in many modded cars have you?" Its nicer than my prius...but everything is slow compared to 2600 lbs and 300 whp. Everything in that category seems like a rocket.

The car will be getting a full Formula D-spec Roll cage with x bar in the rear and 4 guessets... even Nascar style door bars....along with front and rear bash bars. The problem is....I want someone to make what I design haha..and that's been a bit of an ordeal as of late.

Yea!! I almost want to re-do the lower radiator duct because the Intercooler duct came out sooo well. After doing the first one......the second one came out excellent!! they're both good but the Radiator duct could be better. I could utilize an extra inch opening top and bottom on the inlet just for a little more flow...but didn't think of it till I got the IC duct done. I'm going to start the Oil cooler ducts today. Thinking they'll come out just as nice!! More updates soon!

I'm pretty sure the line was 3/8's and the adapter was 3/8ths to AN-6. Get the hose from Jegs or Summit racing. ANd do research...because you'll waste money otherwise

I've been out if the scene for a while and now I'm playing catch up. What's the story on these headlamps and covers?
Is this custom or does some produce these?

WOW...after DAYS of reading through each and every page I've come to a few conclusions...I f'n hate you and love you at the same time, is that weird? Don't answer that...but seriously I feel like a kid again reading through all of this like my favorite comic book...I get to the end and I'm like, aww man now I have to wait until the next issue!

Keep up the good work building YOUR car brotha, if you did things how everyone else thinks you should...you'd never finish!

Might be relocating to San-D in the near future and that FD is one more reason to love it out there...(besides the three "W's" ) jk

^ Yea, the racepak is the way to go. The non logger dash is relatively cheap compared to a full set of gauges and it can display more info with 4 different pages that can be customized to display what the ECU sees and also has aux inputs in the rear of the dash for additional inputs.

Daytime direct sunlight visibility is impressive as well.

I don't know if i've posted this or not yet but I ran into a slight hic-up.

My clutch was having slight problems and I couldn't figure it out after adjusting it multiple times. Pulled it and my discs are SHOT. Exedy Twin Cerametallic discs front and rear measured 1.5-1.3...YIKES wayyyy past the replacement limit. So I shopped around and found an excellent price for two replacement disks and an intermediate plate. The intermediate plate was only showing the slightest bit of step...but I figured while I was in there I might as well replace it since it was only 150 extra. The two replacement discs cost me 480 shipped...which is a slamming deal.. and with the intermediate plate it came to 630 shipped. The price of an ACT extreme set up. But you know what... The clutch feels amazing and is one of the best aftermarket clutches i've ever felt without sacrificing major differences etc. SO i'll be installing the disks as soon as they come in, and i'm looking forward to breaking them in. I also got more sheet aluminum from my Local Lowes so I could complete my Two Oil Cooler Ducts. I originally wanted to make the cooler ducts stick out as much as possible to catch as much air and guide it into the coolers but due to bumper restrictions and clearance I had to sacrifice some length overall just to make them fit correctly without looking all goofy. The end results are still good and I'm very happy with them both.
On to the pics!:

Here is what I used to mock the ducts

Size: 1.56 MB
Name: 20130722_115815_zps40f22519.jpg
Views: 167
Size: 1.59 MB

After I have all my mock cardboard cut out I test fit it with the bumper on. Anything that rubs will bend or smash and you simply trim it to fit. After all the pieces fit I stencil them onto the sheet alum and cut them out with my Angle Grinder.... Yea I've become damn good at cutting with that thing. Not gonna lie...I impress myself sometimes haha. Here is the first cut out
Name: 20130722_131740_zps4301ff38.jpg
Views: 145
Size: 1.77 MB
Then I tape the first piece into place and clamp each additional piece to fit to the tightest clearance. This way you can be sure that when you bolt it all up it'll really fit like a glove and do the job it was intended to do.
Once a piece is clamped on.....I VERY carefully remove it from the oil cooler and make Perm marker marks and Rivet it into place. The perm marker is just there for double checking....to make sure that the pieces didn't move. If they move...it'll fit JANK.. and no one likes Jank except Broke *** zilvians.
Here are some clamp and bend pics:

Very nice, I've been slacking on getting my replacement disks for my clutch. I definitely need to get on it, I hate the fact that I know my car is slower right now. Anytime I do a quick 4th gear pull I can smell the clutch wasting away even more -__-.
