This makes me feel good. The Gotham guys have been extremely professional and very responsive. Hopefully it will turn out well.

I think the financial strain of getting the shop back up and running and the emotional strain of losing his mother had more to do with the results of my project than other factors.
Wow...I didn't know any of that. And I'm guessing from what you posted that insurance does not cover natural disasters like hurricanes?! Damn that sucks...

Also, Cam was going to use the Links (sp?) EMS on my car and he had bullet-proof maps for this. When this was not available, this sent him scrambling. My understanding is he's now learned a lot about EMS systems and more about tuning them, but my car suffered.
Of course hindsight is 20/20, but again, at that juncture, he should have gone w/ something that's been tried and true, tested repeatedly on 3-rotors. Or if he wanted to go all out, he coulda chosen an Autotronic or Motech system.

He had insurance but they had refused to pay out on the claim. When my car was there, Cam was working with a lawyer to try to force them to honor the claim. Those of you from FL or LA know how this goes. You have to keep at it or they won't pay. Adds to the stress level.

I concur with the comments about the EMS. My thoughts are Pettit just wan't very good at that time with EMS systems and tuning. They are wonderful fabricators but their tuning knowledge was lacking and the project wasn't sucessful because of it. I've spoken with Pettit a few times scince then and they have increased their understanding of different systems and have even come around to the idea of using single turbos on FDs. Those of you that know Cam know he always errors on the side of safety but I think he now knows singles can be installed and tuned safely.

Thats funny. I work for Cardinal Health (IT division) right now. Actually, I'm probably leaving, but that's another story.

FYI, you can also swap out the actuator. It is just an electronic piston. It might be worth doing that instead if the pump you have is a known commodity and the other is not . . .

Yes, I tore it down to the block and fixed everything myself. Fuego is worse than Wolf!!! Took me a couple of months, but I got it running perfect.

So, should I take my car to Fuego Racing? Glad to hear it's back together. It was in great shape.

David, I'm getting really excited for you. Did Steve give you any idea on how much longer it will be before you get the car back?

Hey Zach,

My guess would be right around the end of the year, so in a few weeks. Of course, the Aquamist water injection system might through that off a little. Should be started up any time now. That would be a big step forward.

I didn't realize you were going to use an AI system. You just raised the reliable power bar quite a bit for yourself!! I'm really interested to see what that setup produces for you. From talking to Howard Coleman and a few of the other AI heads on here, that is the way to go for any mid to high power rotary if you want to keep reliability. Very smart move on your part!!

Yes, We are actually doing a few upgrades while installing the haltech. MSD coils came in yesterday and we're in the middle of installing them. They're just so much bigger than stock that we had to fabricate new brackets to put them in place. Advantage of this is that we can run an ignition amp in the future if needed with the MSD Ls1/Ls6 coils setup by MSD eventhough the ignition amp isn't available at this time. They are also much stronger coils than the bosch or the factory coils based on the spec sheet provided by MSD so we should see a small gain just by running them.

It should provide enough spark to burn the fuel and WI/AI injection at higher boost applications.

Thanks for the update Steve. Can't wait to see what you can do with that car once you get it on the dyno.

So, what's DGRR? Edit - Deal's Gap, right? I've always wanted to go to this. Let me check out the details but I'd love to be there.

Rich is right about the time. 11's would be if it was untuned.

And yes David, DGRR = Deal's Gap Rotary Rally. I grew up just a few hours from Deal's Gap and I've spent more time then I could possibly count on that stretch of road on both bikes and in cars. If you get a chance to go, don't miss it!!

Talked with Steve last night. The water injection system is in and in process of being installed. They have the following to finish before starting the car:

- Finish the Haltech wiring. About 50% complete.
- Finish the Water injection install. Will be wired into the boost controller so if it runs low on water, will shut down boost on the car.
- Finish fabricating a piece of the intercooler piping. Not difficult but the person that is wiring the car is also the person that will fab the pipe.

Steve promised to call me when he starts the car. Can't wait to hear it "alive" again. Today's crazy Wold USA EMS issue - the cruise control unit was removed off the car and is in the trunk. Needs to be re-installed.

Yes, I'm pretty excited. Trying to maintain a calm composure because I've been here before. Can't count the number of times Chris Greene told me the car was just about finished. I know it's different with Gotham and they'll make it right, but being low key works for me.
