Finally a new update! I got around to picking up a brand new 99 spec bumper!

The old bumper was so bad that I felt like maybe some destruction would appease you guys...

Theres a video to go along with this too but i'll have to put it on youtube or something.

The finished product looks great, so good that it makes the rest of the paint look kind of shitty. I'm highly considering repainting the entire car in the original montego blue or possibly innocent blue mica - thoughts?

I also picked up some new-to-me wheels for a steal of a price from a local rx-7 owner turned motorcycle enthusiast. He had these on his girlfriend Nissan Juke and apparently they fit like a glove with 225/40/18 in the front and 255/40/18 in the rear. Tires are Bridgestone Pole Position S-04, wheels are Enkei TS6.

Hope to have more updates rolling out soon. I have an autoexe strut bar to install as well!

Paint the car Innocent mica blue. Montego Blue looks like absolute **** when it's not well maintained. It's very rare that color looks good.

I'm leaning toward Innocent Blue Mica anyway so that's good to know. What about the paint makes it look bad? I'm a pretty meticulous owner, I was minimum every two weeks and wax every 3 months. Does Innocent Blue Mica hold up better? Will modern paint make Montego look better/last longer?

Thanks 7_rocket!

Eh, MB just looks like **** to be honest. I"m just not a fan of the color. The only car I've seen that looks decent is rocketeerbandit's car.

Been awhile since my last update. Hard to get any work done with all the rain recently. I picked up a complete poly bushing set, LRB under tray, LRB defroster vents, and had my boost controller installed... Pictures to come!

Looks much much better. Innocent blue mica would be amazing, though a black refresh would look just as good if you make sure all the jambs and underhood paint match. (Possibly consider the black inner housing 99-spec bumper lights as well?) ..Or these of course: https://www.blacklabeleng.com/produc...7-fd3s-retail/

Thanks for the feedback guys! The rain here has been absolutely insane so it's really stopping me from getting anything done... Sucks!

I'm really leaning to IBM but it's probably not going to be for awhile. Still need to get the turbo installed and a number of other things!

Still pouring rain here in CA. I feel like i'm not going to have a chance to work on the car until spring at this point!

My garage is currently occupied by my room mates cars are who are in OKC for ATC school so I have to wait for the rain to end before I can move one out for an extended period of time.

Another option may be using my neighbors garage while his GT-R is out for labor...

Talking

Alright, so the rain is finally gone and I can start working again. I have access to a garage and things are coming together!

I'm about to bite the bullet on my fuel system but i'd love some advice. I spoke with turboblown, rx7store, and dug around the forums and heres the consensus.

I have a PFC and i'm not looking to upgrade to anything heavier duty for the time being. I am looking at 725cc ID primaries, 1300cc ID secondaries, a CJ Motorsports FPD system, and a walbro 400 fuel pump (yes I know I just put the 255 in and it has like 200 miles on it). I'm also going to add an HKS twin power. This setup will be powering a GT35R turbo.

I'm aiming for 350-400 reliable WHP. How does that setup sound? Anything else I should be considering? I'm basically ready to pull the trigger so just waiting on feedback to make sure i've got it all figured out.

@kensin - what makes you lean toward that? I have a friend doing 550/2000 but the shops are recommending 725/1300

I guess it's up to your tuner preference and what you like. Either setup works

I like the 550 2000 is because it's easy for idle and street driving/city driving , tuning ability
2000 for power gains up top and won't run out of fuel if I decide to up my boost either with my twins or future single conversion.
