No. Unfortunately you wouldn´t be able to bring over either a UK reg FD or a Japanese Import FD.

The only way I could see it happening is if you worked some sort of an agreement where you were importing the vehicle for a specific purpose, over a set amount of time, with assurances that the vehicle would be returned to the UK once that purpose and/or time was completed (i.e. you were coming for a show or race and the event was sponsoring the vehicles presence). Violating an agreement like that would likely result in heavy fining and/or the vehicles confiscation.

My mate Tharek (m4drx on FDUK) faced the same dilemma when he was thinking about moving to the states. He ended up binning the idea (that I´m aware of) due largely to how retarded it is to (legally) immigrate to the states these days... But that´s another subject completely, lol

so, congratulations on derailing my thread for an entire page on a small detail that doesnt even matter... i ask that you stop now.

anyway... this is the intercooler that i will be using for my set up. with the intercooler in hand and the radiator on order, i will be able to start mocking up how this stuff will be mounted. i will also be ordering the under tray from shine soon as well.

forgot to mention i also picked this stuff up. the twin power is currently for sale. im not sure if it will be that big of a deal to use it with my set up or not. i dont really think it will help that much but im sure it wont hurt it either. i priced it kind of high so if someone wants to pay my price then i'll let it go. if not then its whatever.

the shift **** is really nice though. its pretty heavy. i've had my eye on it for quite some time and finally decided to just get it.

then this little bastard is giving me hell. i have no idea how to get it out without destroying the sill. i tried putting upwards pressure on the screw in hopes that it will hold the nut plate still but no luck. i may just go ahead and cut the head off and figure something out about getting the rest of it out.

Those sills look pretty toasty anyways. What's the issue with the screw?

The nut plate that holds the screw in is broken and is spinning with the screw.

looks good.
can you get me a full decent condition rhd front carpet?

as for everyone complaining about his stateside claims. its a 92. probably built in 91. if he takes 2 years to finish it before it goes back to the us, it will reach the 25 year mark. otherwise, ship it to canada and drive over the border. register in state. not fed legal but most states have no issues with producing a title on such a vehicle.and then when it does hit the 25 years, full fed legal. easy. rhd is just a hot topic for a lot of state side people. not sure why.

keep up with the good work

Start with a small drill bit and work your way up in size. You'll eventually drill it out.

i got a bunch of updates coming up.... i just gotta take pictures and stuff. for right now though, i started on the engine harness. i got it unwrapped, de-pinned all the wires not being used and some what laid out how the wires will sit when i go to wrap it back up. i still have to measure stuff again to see which wires i need to shorten or lengthen for the wire tuck. i will also need to make some repairs.

since the car used to be AT, the transmission harness part had a lot of unused plugs that were just taped off. only 2 wires the entire thing are actually being used. i think theyre for the reverse lights. i was able to remove pretty much the entire thing. how needed are all those other plugs? i know there are 3 more that are supposed to connect to the transmission.

i was also able to delete that black plug that connects to the little box that goes behind the ECU for AT cars. there were actually A LOT of wires coming off of it that was i able to delete.

i still have to lay the harness in the car one more time to finalize the location of the plugs and be sure that everything still works. after that, i can wrap the harness up properly this time and move on to the charge harness. after a bunch of work and de-pinning i am left with this.

so i got the chance to organize all the things ive gathered for the build so far. no real update on the car itself. im taking my time on a few things...

my parts room

i was lucky to get my hands on a complete arms set. now when i go to do my bushings i can just swap them out. im going to get these cleaned up, painted and get all the old bushings removed. i plan on going with the powerflex kit and i want to install zerk fitting on the control arms for easy lube maintenance. pretty cool project i think

i finally have 90% of the body parts i need to complete the car. the only thing im missing is the rear diffuser. fortunately, i dont have to order it from shine. its sold locally in carbon for less than shine is offering it for. i wont be able to buy it for a long time since its not exactly a priority considering what all needs to be done else where.

i got my rz seats with the rails. i need to "polish" the back part of the seats. apparently, its supposed to be smooth and shiny. well these are rough and dull. i also need to get the bolster protectors for both seats.

i watched a pretty good video on youtube on restoring trim panels and the guy suggested these items. its supposed to get the surface STUPID clean for maximum paint adhesion and longevity.

i got the aem analog wideband since thats the one that everyone says works with the datalogit. i got this before i decided to make the change to adaptronic from power fc. i may sell it to get a nice digital one.

on the fence about doing the electric power steering mod. i got the relay just in case i decide to go for it. ive also been thinking about deleting power steering all together but then that would require a bit of work to the steering rack. i dont know if thats something that i really want to deal with.

yea man... used is the way to go. its not like any of these things are wear items and with a little time they can be cleaned up to look like new. the price difference between used and new makes it worth it.
