GrandMighty.com's Project R2
QQ for original poster, where did you get the R1 lip. My local dealer claims they are no longer available new from Mazda. Yours looks new?

The mounts are stock with the Racing Beat brace
The exhaust definitely looks very aggressive.
Thanks!

The factory cloth material does have the advantage of looking more taut and smooth. The red suede is actually a different, brighter hue of red as well.
Looking forward the filler neck! I like your choice in using Stainless Steel.
Hopefully more to come soon...
Thanks Austin. Will try to get more later.
Hehe, but I think at this point, I'm too far gone for Adderall to do any good.
Back in my younger days, I used to only focus on the more obvious aesthetics-oriented side of things. These kinds of modifications are easy to do and the results are immediately apparent. Now I take more pleasure in figuring out the more subtle details. I want my car to look mostly stock, but be far from it when you start looking closer.
Even though no one will ever see the dash crossmember, powdercoating it was still one of my favorite decisions.
Thanks man. How's your car coming along? We need to get a drive going soon.
Good meeting you Chris

You can get it from Rotary Performance (RX7.com) or call up Ray @ Malloy. Forget your local dealer, keep Ray on your speed dial. I actually just ordered a spare lip from him yesterday, I think it was around $142 shipped.
The 2 bumpers are so different from each other that I can see why a split in preference might exist. They both have their merits, I guess it all comes down to user choice

4 months later, I finally have my interior back together.
The interior plastics were repainted 8+ times before I was happy with their finish. The gauge cluster surround was repainted at least 12+ times. What an ordeal.

I absolutely loved your car with the 99 spec front end and the regamasters.. it was utter perfection of what I think a clean FD should look like
I can completely appreciate your OCD as well, and understand the powder coating of the support bar, few people dream of building cars to this level of detail, even less do it.
even if it not 100% of my personal tastes with your "new" exterior look, it it demands respect in the way it has be completed.
sorry for nut swinging so much

Interior looks great!!! Only thing I would consider doing is wrapping the cluster hood in alcantara so it matches the dash. Looks kind of out of place since it isn't the same as the dash or the cluster face.

There's never an end... it's all just a big cycle...
Thanks
I do miss the 99 + Regas look a LOT, but the Advans definitely catch your attention more in person. I've been heavily debating between pre-99 and 99 bumpers these days...
Let me know, looks like you're in my area too. I'm in Hayward.
The hood does look a bit better in person, in my opinion. When sitting in the car, it sort of blends with the other uncovered plastics in the interior.
Oh, it's still for sale if anyone wants to buy the whole thing
Thanks

good! I read a lot in the forum, but just said, this time it is necessary, I congratulate you for your work on this fd. Wear time watching your post and your blog, especially in the blog as I love to explain everything.
I'm starting something similar on my fd ... as much as possible within legal in Spain lol
follow so ... although this perfect!

Curious as to what steering wheel that is. Check out my build thread as well. Your dash, minus the suade, looks like mine except mine is all piano black instead of silver.
Let me know about that wheel and hub...

^^^^if im correct...that steering wheel should be the Sparco L360 Sparco USA
