Clean up

Gave the car a much needed exterior cleaning on Sunday while I was at work.
Wash, compound and waxed her. I'm no detailer but im pretty happy with the results .
She went from a 10footer to a nice 5footer.

Just cell phone pics but she came out nice.

Looking good with the wash and new exhaust. I think that Tanabe setup is the new Greddy SP.

Wow, car looks great. My car also sat for 8 years because of a previous owner. It had just as bad of an exhaust shop special on it when I got it! I guess that was a thing 8 years ago : D Looking forward to more updates and info on the engine repair!

Yes Sir, lots of work has been put into her to get it where it's at now.
The engine was toast... pretty much all trashed from the rust.
I have spare parts and built a engine for her.... gonna post some pics soon just been lazy lately.

I'm collecting my suspension goodies.

Picked up some Tein Flex Z Coilovers, JAuto pillow ***** and Superpro bushings.
Hope to get some free time soon... cant wait to get these installed.
My shocks are original and completely toast w/176K miles, its like driving around on a pogo stick... bounces like crazy on every bump in the road....lol

Coilovers in a box..

Also picked up a sweet piece for the interior.
I hate the stock FD wheel... really looks like it belongs on a truck. So happy to replace it with this.
Thanks to ZE Power MX6!

Also working on a A/C solution for my v-mount setup.
I'm using a RX-8 condenser and a couple of custom lines..... I've seen others have used it with good results.

Nice! Any details you can give on the RX-8 condenser setup would be great, we may do the same thing on Jon's FD.

Thumbs up SuperPro bushings and JAuto pillow ***** installed :)

I replaced all the stock bushings with SuperPro bushings and also the pillowballs with J-Auto pillow ball units.
Both were bought from J-Auto and shipping was very fast.

Cant wait the test the car out with these...... the previous oem bushings/pillow ***** had 177K miles on them and they were shot.

Didn't take many pics I'm terrible about taking them but here's a few below...….

J-Auto Pillow Ball

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-ifsjglc.jpg

Pulled and getting ready to clean them up.
I just hit them with a wire brush to knock the dirt off, I wasn't looking to eat off them...lol

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-tdpnyny.jpg

SuperPro Bushings and J-Auto Pillow ***** installed ready to back on the car.
NOTE: I didn't change the rear lower arm bushing......reading up on here, it needs to stay oem.

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-ewcjbj6.jpg

Last one...

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-gla0nrw.jpg

Finally, a big thanks to finalformusa.com they have a nice detailed write-up about replacing bushings & pillow ***** on the FD.
Nothing was difficult.. just took a little while(worked on it after work when I had the free time) and having the correct size sockets to push/press the parts out/in.

Thumbs up ECU Change

Couple of changes in the last month or so.
I changed ECU's and I'm now up and running with a Haltech Elite 1500.

I'm not knocking the former ECU(Adaptronic M2000) but I'm very happy I made the move to a Haltech.

And finally shes running and driving now I was able to test out the new suspension.
WOW! what a difference so nice a tight without any clunking or noises.
She feels so much better than before.

Car is self tuned to 13psi.. wastegate spring and running very well.
While I was swapping to the new ECU I went and rewired my fuel pump.

Some pics below.

Used the stock ecu housing to mount the Haltech

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-ems4fji.jpg

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-sea8idh.jpg

Flashlight came with the ECU

FD #2, 93 VR Base, Found sitting in a garage for 8yrs-t99i4rs.jpg

Running the new wiring for the fuel pump.
Wire comes from the Haltech fuse/relay box located next to the ECU.
I followed the stock loom and then secured it with zip ties.

Awesome progress. I've got an Elite 1500 on order and I was planning on using my turbojeff PFC bracket but now that I see it fits in the OEM housing I'll probably do the same and take a cutter to the OEM housing to knock down the sides. Thanks for sharing!
