hahah thats what i was going for... 550 is a little too steep for me when i think its quiet basic geometry to make.... i think the re version's center tunnel is too narrow and looks funny... especially with the license plate above throws it off and looks too similar.... i llike the aggressiveness of the CC version

Mine got destroyed from scraping:

Strange how everything on my car has changed since that pic

I plan to get another CC diffuser when I move out of the country...should be okay there. Here the roads are ridiculous.

I haven't I'm afraid. You could try mailing Masaki Kitajyo @ CC - Hes always been very helpful from my experience. Just enquire as you're unsure if it will clear your drive or something

ahah not a bad idea..

updated car as it sits now....

UIM is off to get sanded and powder coated, yup, you guessed it, neon pink.

while sanding off the texture i decided to modify it slightly for cosmetic purposes... i grinded/sanded down the lip on the front and back, and removed a chunk on the runner closest to the firewall

fogot if i posted this but i broke the alternator as i was trying to put it back and broke one of the brushes....

this is what happens when amatures tackle projects out of their league hahah

andddddd i got mad that it was broken and stupidly put it back together with my impact gun.... and this is what happens....

im also gonna ceramic coat the manifold/hotside/lim but feeling kinda lazy so that might have to hold off.....

in the process of converting back to 3" still..... womp womp

im picking up the new rims on friday!

also notice some oil in the LIM runners so picked up a cusco oil catch can and a sard thermostat since the car is running ungodly hot. 110...... fml

more diffuser pics... prototype 2... its not as detailed as the first one.. it was more for size reference...

the center is like shines version, its 2 pieces and has a separate center diverter tunnel... the < > on the sides are just support since im using fairly thin cardboard and only secured by hot glue at the edges....

so i was looking at mr david hayes build and hes making some vents and ducting for his turbo to breath fresh air

(hope you dont mind me referring your pics, if you want ill take em down)

SOO this really got me thinking about all kinds of ducting..... i was thinking about cuttin the same part david did but the whole thing, thus the air will flow up..
excuse the poor diagram lol

something like taht.. what do you guys think??

also what are the openings on the 99spec lip for? iirc are they for the brakes??? i was thinking of combining the duct with the side ducts for more cooling to the oil coolers (tho i dont have dual oil coolers yet) any thoughts?

Your FD is running at 110 degrees C? If so, you've got more problems than a simple t-stat switch will solve.

YUP. thats one of the things im trying..... im gonna try making ducting as well, put on my undertray (lol i know) and i think its bc the belts are slipping bc i powder coated the pulleys, so ill sand a little and hopefully those spots will wear off soon

When was the last time the coolant was changed? *All* air purged from the system? 50/50 mix? At 110 degrees you're getting the danger zone of hurting the engine.

before deals, 50/50 peak coolant, i thought all the bubbles were out.. ive tried so many ways but i think that might be one of the most annoying things... i always pull the coolant line from the tb so the highest point lets out air yet sometimes i still have bubbles? yes i know its not a place a i want to be at so i stopped driving the car.

so i mocked up the diffuser the other day (was too lazy to post) buttt here are the pics.... and guess what! measurements are off again!

side is a little too wide..

anddd the angles are are not steep enough.. so they come out further then the bumper..

sooo a little more modifying before i can start making a mold and actually produce one...

Your car is looking amazing. Mines is almost done. Yah I have the powder coated blue sub frame. She's running now. Just throwing a couple of codes and needs a tune. She'll be on the road soon! I screwed up the LS2 so now she has an LS3.
