I cannot unsee the wood and red. That's the worst I've ever seen.

Sorry twin. I thought at the time that it would look good but after it was painted I did not like it either. The problem was that after the painter destroyed my engine the next move was to have the engine rebuilt. The engine was rebuilt incorrectly and had low compression from day one. The engine builder Jose Fuego, who is no longer in business, tried to rebuilt it again but once again it was trash. Frustrated, low on cash and a child on the way I parked the car in my garage and left it alone for ten years.

I also bought all the oem parts and oil for the shifter. Figured I might as well rebuild the whole thing.

I added this passenger foot plate. Those are the 1993 original oem floor mats and carpet.

The car goes to Jesus Padilla (aka)Kilo Racing in St Cloud, Fl. The JDM motor I bought had only 60 psi on the first housing and 60 on the second housing. Kilo opens the engine and says the rotor housings look great and everything else in the engine is great. Wow!!! Dodged a bullet!! It is always a gamble when you buy a jdm engine. Either way bought a complete rebuild kit and Kilo started the build.

Brand new interior plastics on stand by. I will put these in after I install the short shifter and gauges are fixed. I also just ordered new bezels for the gauges.

She is back home from Kilo Racing and parked next to my brother rx8. Now I have to be disciplined and not go full throttle in the break in period.

Went back to the oem hood, new headlight covers and removed the Racing Beat front lip. R1 oem lip will be used instead.

Still working on the interior. Added this quick release momo steering wheel. I am 6ft 2 inches and the quick release allows me to get in and out easier. I need to paint the steering wheel plastic column cover again. I had to shave it down a little for clearance

Well I was tired of the old oem suspension with eiboch springs so I decided to buy a set of ohlins dfv 12k coilovers. This upgrade should help with ride quality but most of all handling. This car will see mostly street driving but it will also see some road courses. So far the engine at this point has ran very well and sounds great. At least this time I did not get screwed with a built motor with low compression. So many rotary thiefs it's crazy.

Added the r1 front lip. I felt it looked better than the Racing Beat front lip. Its weird how as you grow older, what used to like you no longer like. I was so excited back in 98 when I put the Racing Beat front lip on. I was more excited when I put the r1 lip back on the car.

I could not stand the mismatching paint so I did my best to paint the hood and the light covers. The color is torch corvette red and I am no painter but did the best I could. The car was awaiting paint but I was taking my time. If you been keeping up with the build you know what happened the last time I got it painted. The paint was actually still new but it got a few dings while in the garage for 10 years.

Imsa 24hr Rolex at Daytona and I am in my baby. Finally I can open her up and see what she can do. Boost set on 15lbs. I punch it in 1st and the rear tires yell for help. I roll on second and the car twist as the rear end kicks out and I have to start steering. The motor is making great power but the worn suspension is showing its age. Also sometimes the car makes good boost and sometimes it does not. It appears there is a small vacuum leak in the wastegate lines.

I finally get to open her up as I am headed to the IMSA 24hr of Daytona race. Boost is set at 15psi and there is a few problems. One, the old tired suspension can not handle the added h.p. On a roll in second gear the suspension allows the car to twist and when that happens rear steps out and I have to steer. Not even the 10 inch wheel with 275 meat on it hold the car. Problem number 2, the twin wastegates appear to have a vacuum leak in the plumbing. Sometimes I get full boost and sometimes I dont. Either way when it does boost correctly I am getting 15psi by 3500rpm.
