93 R1 build
Decided on starting a build thread, I was plaining on keeping the car relatively stock but since i blew the motor a few months ago it triggered me to overhaul the car this winter. I purchased the car off ebay from a 50 year old woman in Miami florida who inherited the car from her step father in the early 2000s. It had near 80k miles was completly stock and in good shape she included all the recipts since the late 90s so i drove from long island NY to miami and back all in 1 weekend (never again) but well worth the trip. Drove the car and slowly moded it for the past year and a half untill it started making a loud knocking noise so i pulled the pan and discovered a ton of copper shavings. I will start by posting pictures of when i first got the car and the first mods i did up untill my recent progress on the build.

Hwl carbon reverse lights (terrible fitment and quality) i wouldnt recommend these to anyone
Fresh paint
Diffuser installed
Found this hood for sale in CT and couldnt pass it up
Mishimoto rad and hoses
New rotors and pads also painted the calipers
Hks high power exhaust with downpipe and catless mid pipe
First detail after i got her home
Megan coils really wanted ohlins but 2k for suspension in a car that wont see the track is pointless to me
Got the rear window tinted and replaced the weather stripping
After the coilovers were installed and the freshly painted parts
Front lip , mud gaurds and 99 spec wing going out to paint

Welded up a few holes and layed down some primer
Removed the engine cradle for powder coat
Re routing the body harness and removing some wires that wont be used
Brand new motor from mazda
Found some cracks in the hotside of the turbo's could be the reason for my boost creep, This has turned me in the single turbo direction.
E shaft is beat along with the rear rotor housing decided to go with a new engine.
Spun bearing
Stating to remove the engine

Balasky,
Awesome build thread! You certainly have put a lot of time into bringing body, paint, engine, and other mechanicals up to a high standard! I noted that your odo is blank from one of the photos. Do you plan on repairing it or replacing it? Where on LI are you? I'm originally from Massapequa. Currently in town visiting family.
Cheers,
George
