92 JDM FD Type-R Build - The story of an FD beaten its whole life
Alright so as most of you the RX7 has always been my dream car and thanks to a break up I now own one. I bought this car from someone i thought was a good guy and a friend but in the end what i got was a car that was beat on hacked apart and never cared for.
Needless to say I had no idea what i was getting myself into with this build but I got this FD for 3000 to my door so i couldn't argue with the price. This weekend was the first weekend really working on it so i brought over two very good friends who both own FD's and have years of experience working on them. Without these two (who are both on these boards) this car would just be a garbage car i threw money into.
When we got to my friends garage and looked at it for the first time together i could tell by the shock on their faces that this was going to be no easy project. There is something about standing beside a guy who has over 20 years experience in the scene that gives you confidence about a project like this. Until you look over at him smiling eyes wide with excitement and you see his reaction.

"*Huge sigh* followed by holy s$#@... I think this is going to be one hell of a project..." This has a weird way of taking the wind out of your chest followed by what did i just get myself into and how long am i going to have to keep paying for it...
The car was in pretty bad shape and it looked as if the last person who had the hood open just wanted to take everything they could see apart then break it with a jackhammer.
The car was missing parts had broken wires and rats nests everywhere. Never the less the one problem with John and Andrew is they are stand up guys who would never back out of helping a friend.
Fast forward and 12 hours later we have the car almost together just missing what little odds and ends we could not steal from their own cars and extra parts they had around their garage.
When i build a car i like to have everything looking A1 and not half finished with broken clips and loose wires so this was going to be a long process for me.
I totally ripped it apart inside to clean and tuck wires as well as repaint the dash etc.
So today begins my build thread of turning this poor FD back into a car worth showing off.
Picture time
On this way to me
Temp home
Inside
Doing work
Parts parts and more parts
Then i treated myself to a new spoiler
More pictures to come just waiting on my friend to send me the photos
