If reliability is your goal, I would definitely research water injection (browse the Aux Injection forum) and subscribe to every Howard Coleman thread. [/QUOTE]

How does a 16 year old afford a professional engine rebuild, let alone the car itself? Between college, volunteering and my job I am still very far away from being able to snag even a roller haha.

Anyway cool build man, it looks like you have a lot of previous experience dealing with cars. What are your goals suspension wise by the end of this project?

send the parts out to be ported. no offense but more than half of the time first time port jobs get botched.

a botched port job will cost you basically a complete motor, worth the cost of porting and shipping? probably. or just leave the ports stock, there really isn't as much gain as some people claim.

it's almost to the point that i cringe these days when cracking open a rebuilt motor, not knowing what i will find.

Literally anyone can afford a Series I JDM FD. They're practically a dime a dozen in Japan because the Series I is considered too old and too unreliable.

You can get them for $3,000-4,000 plus maybe $1,500 to ship it.

A good FC costs more than a Zenki FD does.

Good luck with the build! Have you started looking into insurance for your RHD yet? It's becoming harder and harder to get Insurance for RHDs in Ontario

That is true but i still got a better deal then that thats another reason i have the money to do a full build

Those wheels and those tires on an FD are just... wrong.

Then again the only rims I would pay money to buy new would be Enkei RPF1s.. Mmmmmm...

Keep up the good work. I am 18 and going through the exact same process as you with the rebuilding of the car and fixing all of the cheap patch work, restoring the FD to its original beauty. And take those damn mustang wheels off now please

Removed back seats waste of space and weight for me sold them already got a special plan for the area! Heres a guide

Back seat removal: Probably not the most descriptive or best photos but a general guide
First the two brackets that hold the top of the back seat down 2 bolts each bracket i believe they were 10 mm bolts irnore the bracket on the far left

next the top brackets that the back seat holds onto when the seats are up
2 bolts 12 mm i believe

After that removed the bar that goes from strut to strut back seat leans against 16 mm bolts i believe for the top mounted thing

then just pretty much pulled bottom part of the back seats out no bolts just clips and removed the seat belt buckles

and seat belts

Removed the side plastic pieces in order to do so you need to undo the bottom screw holding the front seat belts down

Thats pretty much it pull the plastic pieces out and your done reverse if you are putting them in

So backseats were sold and shipped and UPS broke two side panels in shipping -_- on another note the build is about to pick up finally, off and on due to my dad causing me problems but soon hopefully parts will find their way onto her. NEXT year i hope to have her out. Recently i have almost finished sanding the body and have take napart some things and put them back together. Just waiting

nice kid! i wish i had my FD at your age, but i'll tell you something... it doesn't matter what they say... you want the power? take it as soon as you can. you only live once!!! and by the way, i'm running BNR's, i converted them to non-sequential, did the whole nine yards on those's Turbos and i'm still kicking myself in the nuts everyday asking the same question. why i didn't go single, why i didnt go single and its gonna be in my head until next spring, cuz next spring, i'm going single!!!!! follow your hearts.

ps: if your Camaro got power, then you can drive your FD no prob.
