Wow, I missed this thread entirely! Anyway, I picked it up from the UPS store here a week ago and told them to stick it. I haven't had a chance to ship it out myself as begining of school makes for an IT nightmare, but today I went and overnighted it off to Riz since I felt bad for having took so long. I should've just said to hell with UPS and went straight to Riz the day we were PM'ing back and forth.

I guess now the question is will I ever see the door sills? Last I heard they're held hostage by UPS.

If you had told me, I could've had the manager here call that store instead of you having to do this. PM incoming.

I tried that. I called that store directly on my phone and handed it off to the store locally and they got into an arguement over something not being done correctly and eventually the result was that they'd have to wait to speak to someone else(your location). That's about when I told them to stick it and decided FedEx might like another package.

Ah, I see. Thankfully, a new DHL store opened up last wednesday, so I won't have to use UPS at all anymore. You've got another PM btw.

I've had bad experiences with DHL too, they've lost some important work docs that couldn't be found ever, and it was to retrieve some cargo worth several mil!! So be careful with them. They basically refunded $100 i think and told us to get lost.

One of my buddies just shipped a tranny through fedex and that got lost...wtf..., how on earth will you lose something so big, and heavy for that matter.

Well I guess there are few choices now for shipping companies, we've established they all suck. It's just sad that nowadays it's a gamble to ship **** and have it go smooth, almost like a lottery. Even if it's insured its a big *** hassle to deal with them.

I never said I thought XxMerlinxX was lying. I never ever said that. This thread isn't about him telling the truth about the situation. It's about how he chose to conduct himself throughout the matter and especially when things got rough. I'm SOOO glad this wasn't more than $150 because the situation would've been a lot worse.

From what I hear XxMerlinxX you don't seem to PM him either unless he does first. Funny how I keep proving my point isn't it. Apparently he himself mentioned how it's been a LONG time since he heard from you and up until now he had no clue either about his part .

What good would that have done aside from having me wait another 2 weeks or so to get me my part. And you STILL feel this was the way to go. WTF!!!

Why don't you now do the right thing and pay SonicRat for the expenses he incurred shipping the part out. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and pay him back because he doesn't deserve to lose any money over this.

If I do pay him back, understand that YOU made me pay twice for shipping. That's what I also call bullshit! Either way you need to fix this.

That's simply not true. Calling someone dishonest is the same as saying they're lying.

"XxMerlinxX: My gripe with you was never about the situation. It was about how you chose to handle it. I was going to take back the part about you being "dishonest", but it's no longer necessary. You proved to me I was right."

I already offered to pay him back, it was in my first PM to him. I've yet to see you list one single thing that could've been done other than the actions I have taken so far.

look, I can certainly understand your frustration on this one. I do not feel that you have conducted yourself inappropriately at all through this. I will say, however, that in this case I feel that he seriously did do what he could. It clearly happened as he said it did, and in that situation he could no more force UPS to do anything any more than you could.

He obviously made effort, or he would not have known what he did throughout this time frame. And he also provided you with a way to contact UPS about it yourself, in case you had questions he could not answer. I fully believe that the seller is responsible for shipping. And in this case, merlin acted responsibly. As soon as he discovered there was a problem, he got on it. It isnt like you told him and had to wait for two months to just find out that your part got swapped. He found out, then got on UPS to fix it. Unfortunately, UPS has a crappy way of doing things sometimes. Thats what happened here. I also understand your point that you wanted more updates, but again, how can he update you without any new information to provide? Personally, I would rather not have someone call or email me a dozen times just to tell me "hey, nothing new has happened". I want news, and he tried to get you news. In the end, it was UPS who was at fault, and your package was stuck at the office close to the other buyer.

I just hope this all works out and sonicrat gets his parts. But while you may have done things differently if you were in merlin's shoes, I honestly cannot say that he did anything wrong. Then again thats just my opinion, for what thats worth. Glad that you are finally getting your parts, and hopefully this will all be wrapped up soon.

I said! The reason SonicRat decided to take the initiative and ship the part out via FedEx is because the UPS store themselves mentioned there were still billing issues that needed to be addressed. In other words they would take a few days to clear things up, ship the part back to your UPS store and then FINALLY ship the part back to me. Considering how many times they've screwed up this transaction up until this point I would say that would've taken easily 2 weeks, if not more!

Most of your points are valid. In fact, I would not have even started this thread had XxMerlinxX been more respectful to me. The disclaimer I wrote in my OP states clearly that I have never written a Bad Guy thread about anyone before. I don't get any enjoyment out of damaging reputations or disrespecting other forum members. Apparently XxMerlinxX doesn't share the same sentiments I do, which is why there are sooo many forum members ready to express their opinions towards him and even others who chose not to publicly voice them.

I thought I made it very clear that this was not about me believing I was being scammed. I never thought that. Had XxMerlinxX done a few things differently none of this would've came about.

In particular:

1- Contacted me prior to myself contacting him for updates. I stand firm with my opinion that I should have been contacted even if he didn't have new information to provide me with. It would've taken just 1 minute of his time to do so and I would've very much appreciated it!

2- He should have NEVER mentioned that there was a possibility I was being screwed by SonicRat. This is what truly sparked everything. This is something a buyer never needs to hear. If he felt that he should have kept his feelings to himself. I can come to conclusions on my own and I really do not need to hear buyers telling me a third party (Not at all involved in the original transaction and whom I have no control over) might be scamming me.

3- When I asked for him to file a claim, I should not have been told I would be out $50. He has since changed his tune regarding this matter, but at first he made it very clear that I would lose the $50, NOT him! This pissed me off even further. I did everything required of me throughout this transaction. I paid him promptly, shipped the wrong part out quickly, and still he expected me to somehow accept losing out on $50 for a mistake that had nothing to do with me. That's simply not acceptable!

4- I expect a certain level of respect and honesty when dealing with any seller. I didn't think that was too much to ask. XxMerlinxX: You need to go and re-read that PM I sent you were I mentioned that. At that point I didn't say you were disrespectful or even dishonest, I said I expect sellers to possess those qualities. You chose to misinterpret what I said.

From there on out you have been a complete *** to me. Calling me names just like you have done with others in the past. I don't resort to name-calling or cussing especially with my customers, but you seem to think that's okay.

5- Finally, I was correct in saying you like to talk down and demean people. It's apparent in the fact that you seem to LOVE questioning everyone's intelligence, myself included. You need to understand that a lot of us have educational levels higher than yours and just because we're on an internet forum and don't need to constantly express it, nevertheless we still are either as intelligent as or more so than yourself. Like Herblenny, I also graduated from a Top Tier University in the Midwest. I really don't need to prove **** to you so I won't mention which one, but I'd just like you to know that you shouldn't be so quick to judge other people's intelligence levels. I also don't know how you question Kevin Landers intelligence. Even though I don't know his background I can just tell from his writing that he is very well educated.

Anyways, I'm done with this thread. I wanted to let everyone know my experiences with XxMerlinxX and I believe I've done so. I'll wait for my part and be done with you. HUGE thanks go out to SonicRat, but not to you!

Regards,

Rizwan

why yes, people have voiced their opinons of him, and yet at the same time, the only people you found to voice any negative opinion of him did so without actually having a business opinion. Merlin has only one other person that tried to complain about his selling or buying, and that person turned out to be wrong. I can find someone for pretty much any person here that has a negative PERSONAL opinion about them, but that was never the purpose of this section. It is also not the purpose of this thread--and if it was, then you never should have posted it.

1- Contacted me prior to myself contacting him for updates. I stand firm with my opinion that I should have been contacted even if he didn't have new information to provide me with. It would've taken just 1 minute of his time to do so and I would've very much appreciated it!
I actually agree with this, some more contact would be nice. however, merlin has stated that he did send you messages in your inbox. I guess you two will just agree to disagree, because none of this has been proven whether he did contact you or not. So it isnt for me to say much either way without knowing more.

You chose to misinterpret what I said.
um, no, sorry I cannot agree with this. You quite clearly insinuated that he was dishonest. Actually, you didnt insinuate it, you flat out said it--at least twice:

"XxMerlinxX: My gripe with you was never about the situation. It was about how you chose to handle it. I was going to take back the part about you being "dishonest", but it's no longer necessary. You proved to me I was right."
I am sure that you were plenty frustrated with this, I know I would have been. But dont come in here and try to put on a face thats different than what you have really done. When you make comments like this, especially when it is clear that you are mistaken in the process, all you do is escalate the problem just as much as anyone else. Dont try to pretend now that you did not make such comments, because you obviously did.

So, you expect sellers to possess those qualities....and since your very first post, you made it quite clear that you dont think he possesses them. Otherwise, you never would have posted this thread. On one hand, you call him dishonest, on the other you say that you never did--that you would just have liked to see him do some things differently. You cant have it both ways.

In the end, he was hardly dishonest from what we can see here. And he did make considerable effort to get UPS to resolve their screwups. He may not have done it exactly as you would have, but he isnt you. He did what he felt was right and there isnt any fault in that. And no matter how many people posted rude comments, or how many rude comments he posts himself, the fact remains that he has a spotless record as a seller on here. he may not be perfect, but he certainly did not have any bad intentions and he worked to resolve the problem once it was discovered. Many sellers on here dont do half that much.

I hope you get your part soon and that sonicrat gets his stuff too.

This is an exact quote of what I wrote to him through a PM. I don't consider what I wrote there a form of accusal. I simply said I expect any reputable seller to uphold those principles. He chose to interpret it the wrong way. Not my fault.

I'm not going back and forth with the comments I made. I later did call him a liar and I stand by that. I called him that after he started saying in this thread that he PM'd me constantly, which was simply not the case. Therefore, he was lying. I stand by the above comment you quoted.

How is that not the case? Did I or did I not send you 12 (possibly more, I might've deleted some as my mailbox has filled up a couple times since then) PMs throughout this transaction? Did I or did I not respond to every one of your PMs within a day? Did I or did I not email you on the 12th of July telling you what was going on?

I didn't say that you didn't PM me back. However, it was ONLY after I would PM you that I would ever hear from you. Not before, which is my whole point.

This thread is going nowhere. I already know you feel you're in the right as do I. I doubt either of our opinions will change so like I said before I'm done. Continue posting if you will, but I won't be adding anything to this thread from here on out.

I'll wait patiently for my part and report back when I receive it.

Later,

Then maybe you shouldn't call someone a liar if you can't backup the accusation with facts.
