Well, it has officially been a month since I have talked with "Cantgostraight". He continues to log on without addressing my questions, even though he has four or five other members trying to contact him about this.

No update! About to send a PM to Gringo Grande to see if he caught up with him this weekend. Tomorrow I guess I'll give RX7doctor a shout to see what can be done about this.

Fortunately 2dperformance has these pipes in stock, unfortunately I have to purchase them a second time.

Mono: No offense to you, or anyone else reading this, but right now the only people I am going to entrust my parts to are members I have done business with in the past. I'm sure you can understand why.

I have recently purchased and received polished parts from another member, who was able to get them in my hands in just over a week. I just wish I could have had a nice turn around like that with "Cantgostraight".

Why would the mods try to contact him? We don't have any magic powers outside the realm of the forum. They didn't even use the forum to make the transaction.

This is more of a case for local authorities than rx7club moderators.

Mike, that's perfectly understandable, but I just figured I'd let you know for future reference that Mono4Lamer aka Lance is a stand-up guy! I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him. He's definitely one of the good guys around here and there's really not that many left.

Riz/Mono,

I apologize if I came off as arrogant, and will definitely keep you guys in mind for future projects. Riz I already know you to be an upstanding member, since we have made successful transactions in the past.

Mods and other members reading this,

I am sorry if any of the decisions I made were inappropriate, but I felt I had no other choice in this matter. I am unsure what, if anything local authorities in Gainesville could do for me. I do have to thank rx7doctor for helping me in contacting Cantgostraight along with all the other members.

Oh, I wasn't worrying about myself. I was already assuming you and I were on good terms.

BTW, you didn't come off as arrogant. I'm the same way in that I've become extremelly cautious in terms of who I choose to give my money to. I just wanted to let you know that you don't have to worry about Lance. I've probably been on this forum longer than you have so don't hesitate to contact me if you're unsure about purchasing from a fellow member. I might've already dealt with them so I can provide you with some insight.

I really hope you get this all resolved. I'm currently in the same boat with another member so I completely understand how you feel. Hopefully, things turn out well for the both of us.

Hey Mike,

I don't know where Jack lives and I have done all I can to contact him and have other local members do the same. None of us have received a response. Like I told you in the PM...if I can ever get my hands physically on your parts I will send them to you. I've got to actually get in touch with CGS first or receive a response. =(

Kevin,

Thanks for helping out and thanks in advance if you manage to get a hold of my parts. I've decided to just re-purchase the pipes from 2dperformance in order to get my car back on the road. Still not sure what to do about Jack.

Oh and if any other members are trying to contact Jack for me, please let them know I appreciate their help.

You'll notice that "Cantgostraight" got banned, yet still he makes no effort to return my parts or notify me of their condition.

Some people.

I have dealt with him on a few occasions and have never had an issue. That is a bit weird. Every transaction that I have had with him was very smooth. Good guy IMO.

Fellas,

This is what I posted in the SE section, hopefully it will clear things up a bit.

All,

I'm the member that was having a problem getting my parts back. I had heard nothing from Jack for almost two months, even though he was logging on to the site. Naturally that would make anyone suspicious. I tried and tried to get Jack to respond to my PMs, with no luck. I asked other members who had done business with him to help me out, still no luck. I then asked a moderator for help. I know Jack was banned in some way, but to what extent I am not sure.

Recently (past week and a half) Jack has contacted me, and done everything in his power to get me my parts back. I would assume he contacted me based on what happened with him and the moderator and to keep from tarnishing his name any further. The parts are scheduled for delivery tomorrow, at which point all of my dealings with Jack will be over. I will choose to take my business elsewhere from now on, but if anyone were to ask me about his work, I can only tell them the truth. I'm not going to go out of my way to burn him though. Time to move on.

^Quite nice and civil of you. Definitely the "high road" as you are now stuck with duplicate parts. Better than no parts at all though

Here is to me being civil.

I got my pipes back today, and they had no work done to them whatsoever. I find this to be quite surprising, given that Jack had them for well over a month and a half! I also did not get my Greddy elbow back that I had sent to him. RX7store has records saying it was delivered, yet Jack failed to include it with my pipes. I paid $119.00 plus shipping for that Elbow, and now I have to just eat that money?

I don't think so.

this guy sounds like a total d-bag. if you have recorded transactions of the original agreement, maybe you can take it down the local authorities (i'm assuming you know where he's located since you have been mailing parts to each other)

I don't honestly know what I would call him, but I do know that a Greddy Elbow I purchased is floating around in la la land. RX7store has receipt of it being delivered, yet "Cantgostraight" says he did not receive it. Who do you believe? I have yet to get any explanation as to why he stopped communicating with me for such a long time.

All of this hassle and this is what I get, my pipes arrived at my house in the same condition as when I mailed them out and I am short $130.00 for an elbow that can't seem to be located.

I guess I learned my lesson. Never deal with Cantgostraight again, others will have to decide for themselves.
