Angry Too_many_7's BAD

I am having an issue with too_many_7's.

Basically, I was wanting to buy a 3" downpipe from him last week.
I paid him $150 on the 22nd and another buyer was going to pay $150 and have both the downpipe and mid pipe shipped to me so that I could take them apart since the seller was unable to do so.

Well, I sent him a message on sunday the 23rd saying that I may have to backout.

I got no response to it.
I then sent another on the 24th saying that I can no longer afford the downpipe and that I am sorry for having to back out of the deal and if he could please cancel my echeck or refund me my money when it clears.

Still no response.

I then procede to send another message via PM to him on thursday the 27th when the echeck cleared, along with an email asking if he had gotten my previous messages.

No response again.

He then finally responds back to me on friday the 28th with this message...

" ya i have and i am waiting on instruction from the other guy in the deal. he has paid in full and i will make sure he gets his parts. i talked to the shop about you backing out on me and black89rx7gtus. there not happy about how you acted. at a minium you would get a partial refund after a restocking fee. pm me back if this will not work for you. if you ask me you are getting off easy. "

I responded with...

"A shop???
There was no mention of a shop being involved.

I had asked for a refund days ago, and it shouldnt have been a big deal.

I myself am a little upset for not being messaged back about the refund for days. And how is there a restocking fee??? You posted a picture of a downpipe that you got from a friend of yours.

Please get back to me ASAP "

He then sends me...

" you will get your refund in a while. "

And the last message I sent was...

" How long is " a while " ? "

No response.

I have sent a few more messages and still no response from the seller.
The last one I sent I told him that if I dont receive my refund today, I will have to open a paypal dispute.

Now in his listing, he mentioned nothing about a shop being involved and that I have to pay for a "restocking fee" if I no longer wanted the pipe.

I beleive this to be total BS and that he just wants money.

And over the course of the past 6 days he has been on at least 2 times each day. So I know that he has read my messages.

I know it is my bad for backing out, but I beleived that I responded soon enough before it would become a major inconvenience for the seller.
I even apologized in his for sale thread for backing out. And the other buyer didnt appear to have any problems with it.

Let me know what you fellow rotary owners think about it.
Am I in the right for wanting a full refund?
Or am I wrong?

He has now been online today at 3:12 PM and has not sent 1 message to me about anything.

I have opened a paypal dispute with him.

Hopefully he will now respond to my messages.

he's apparently pissed you backed out at least that's how it seems. IMO you should have just taken what you already paid for and then sold it. I suppose he could just be a nice guy and not make your life difficult but I guess that's a matter of opinion.

I understand if he is upset, but it shouldnt be such a big deal.

He hadnt done anything for days, and those days were the days that I was waiting on the other buyer to pay. And at that same time that I was waiting, I had sent numerous messages to him saying that I need to back out because I can no longer afford the downpipe.

Which as you have read he would not reply to those messages.

I would have taken the downpipe but I need the money more than the downpipe.

I am a full time student which means I dont work and make my money by selling spare parts and doing side jobs.

$150 is ALOT of money to me.

I have only had 1 bad experience on this club, and it was only something small.
This situation would have been perfectly fine if the seller would have just responded back to my messages and refunded my money the same day it cleared.
