p00shy?

I have started this thread as a reminder for everyone to ask questions and request plenty of pictures when purchasing an item. I've recently purchsed a '99 spec rebar from p00shy, and he failed to mention a major crack on the main bracket and various other cracks on the rebar, partly my fault for not asking, but one would expect to receive such information on the for sale thread. I do not know p00shy and do not have anything bad to say, only that I am very displeased with what I received, but it is what it is. Again, remember to ask for pics and detailed information!

Understand how you feel but this aint how we roll here.

Round these parts, we expect our sellers to disclose the full condition of the parts they list for sale. And we expect them to do it before the sale, not after. We're not talking about a $50 item here either....you laid down a few hundred for this, am I right?

Not acceptable.....I'm guessing that this was the thread you saw it in:

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...rebar-1042171/

Mentions not one word about all the cracks. Only says "it fits fine".

I sent a message to him asking him to take part in this thread. There's no excuse for something like this. And yes, you should ask for pics and info, but that does not excuse his lack of info. If the part had damage, it should have been disclosed at the time it was listed.

Hello

I'm sorry for any misunderstanding that has come from this sale. I do admit that I didn't say anything about the crack but in all honesty it did not occur to me. Installation and fitment was spot on and when I placed a 99 spec bumper over it, everything lines up and was supported.

It is not my intention to sell bad items for any profit and it never will be.

I myself have bought items from forum members that did not disclose information or supplemental pictures. For instance, a while back I had purchased some spirit r seats that just had sun fading. When I received them they had multiple tears everywhere. 3k wasted. So I do know how you feel and I do admit that I should have posted more pictures of the rebar.

I would not have sold it at all to anyone if it was in any horrid shape.

Rest assure it will not happen again. Even my recent posts I.e. my chaste white bumper FS thread I disclosed the lip condition as I felt that was an item that needed to be announced.

I do not wish to be that kind of seller.

I appreciate this coming to my attention very much.

Yes that is the thread, and the item wasn't cheap. A full description of an item that is for sale is necessary no matter how cheap or expensive it may be, p00shy and I have discussed the issue through PMs and agree that this thread is necessary for the betterment of Rx7club. He assured me that it will not happen again, and i hope so too.

I am going to suggest a partial refund in this case, and here's why....

When you price an item, its condition must figure into that pricing. It does not bode well to ask full price for a damaged item. It's just like buying a car---who wants to pay full retail for a car that's got a blown motor, or dents all down the sides, or flat tires and ripped seats? The condition of the item is very important to the price.

You listed the part for sale for $400 plus shipping. RX7 Store lists a brand new one for $560 plus shipping, so $400 is a reasonable price for a used one without all the cracks, IMO. But a damaged piece shouldnt sell for the same $400.

Is the part still usable? you said there's a big crack on one of the brackets. Without seeing it, I have no way of knowing if the part is even usable or not. OP, maybe you can snap a pic of the cracks and post it up, and we can go from there? I really think this should be made right. p00shy, thank you for addressing this so quickly. Lots of others would not have.

Rhino, please get a pic and post it up, lets see what we are looking at here.

We agreed upon 400 shipped and that is from San Diego to South Carolina. Shipping alone cost me 110 as according to USPS, it was an extra large package weighing 14lbs. 60 dollar more that what I had said shipping was as I had not packed it yet. I stuck to my word that I was going to ship it out at that price to him.

I assure you this sale was nothing but a loss for me. If feel it is necessary, please do snap some pics OP so we could get some opinions on it.

I doubt it was damaged from shipping because I pretty sure I packed it in the box pretty well.

Sorry correction. 40 dollars more than what I had expected. Plus insurance and signed confirmation I believe.

I believe it was 14lbs 55x15x12 if I remember correctly.

The part is still usable, just not in great condition. Although, I appreciate your effort to make it right, I'm not looking for a refund of anytype, I will be using it for I am anxious to finish my build. I only started this thread as a reminder for everyone to request details for any item he or she may be interested in purchasing. p00shy has assured me it will not happen again and will be very careful with future purchases myself.

i like how civil this thread turned out... big ups to both parties...

this is the reason why i put the disclaimer in my fs threads. its states all damage and imperfections have been noted and shown in the pictures. there have been a couple cases of people receiveing parts from me EXACTLY as they were pictured in the thread and if there was some sort of damage on the part, they would ask me about it.

when i tell them that the pictures are in the thread showing that damage then they just admit fault for not viewing all the pictures and taking the time to read the thread. this way, i dont feel obligated to rememdy the situation at all.

when advertised as damaged, i dont see why i should be at fault for the buyer not taking the time to read the for sale ad. imo, there should be no surprise when you open the box and get exactly what you paid for and recieve it exactly as it was pictured.

Exactly how all fs threads should be.
