Hi everyone.
I always hoped it wouldn't come to this, ever on this board. I was wrong.
I purchased used twins from Optimus Prime and concluded the sale a bit past mid October.
He said my payment cleared his bank, he would ship next day and give me a tracking number.
Well, I'm still waiting.
In the meantime, PMed him 2/3 times, sent an email to his address once and then started a paypal dispute (or whatever it's called), with the customary email, from which, as well, I have received no response whatsoever.
I am extremely pissed off at this, as the amount of money was small, so there is no reason why you would think somebody would try to take you on a forum for 200 bucks. I guess I was wrong. I am not sure what is going to happen with PayPal, but I am quite sure I am not getting anything from this guy. I waited until today, hoping that -for whatever reason- he had problems responding and eventually everything would have worked out.
Please, beware of optimus prime, he's bad news, he's a scammer and he is obviously a liar.

 

Paypal will give him 30 days to cough up a tracking number. If he does, your dispute will be removed. If he doesn't, your money will be refunded.

I cannot believe that people would f-up for 230 bucks...

Right now paypal says that I have to wait 20 days before the claim escalates...

I know what you mean, bro. I got jacked for a measely $100 about a year ago. I didn't really care about the $100, but it was just the feeling of getting ripped off that sucked.

 

optimus prime has been identified as Pete J Fang. Other pertinent information has been pm'd to gio64. :-)

 

And that's why they continue to do it - because the money isn't too high to where people will spend a lot of resources trying to get it back. I got taken for $300 on this forum once, and it felt like ****...but I wasn't going to hire a lawyer to try to track him down. People like this always seem to slip up sometime, though, get caught and get put away. Hopefully karma will kick him right in the left ********.

 

well apparently the dude who got me for $100 got another forum member for like $3500. I don't know if that ever got resolved, but I'd like to.

The thread was deleted, I guess in the latest forum cleanup from last month...

 

I tried to call. No answer. I have received nothing from him (parts or response).
I am just floored as this guy has been around here for a bit...
I don't know.
But I'm hoping paypal will look after it...
We'll see.

 

I have alot of experience on paypal, what you might try to do is escalate the claim now so paypal will investigate it so you can get your money back quicker.....
