sorry, but this is not necessarily correct information. ic3.gov is nothing more than a complaint receiving website. They do not investigate the complaints with the goal being prosecution--they investigate the complaints only to see which law enforcement agency to refer it to. In most cases it is NOT investigated by the FBI, but instead the complaints get passed to the local police department that has jurisdiction. If you file a complaint on this website, the police department in his town will most likely be the ones who receive the complaint from ic3. Also, and this is very important--most complaints that arent for massive amounts of money do not get investigated much further than that level, meaning the local police dont do much about it or nothing about it. We chased one particular scammer from this forum for three years here in LA, and there were several ic3 complaints filed. I gathered up all the information, all the emails and commuications, all payment receipts, everything from a few different victims and went to the police in the city where this guy lived. I presented the whole file to the cops, and informed them that they can check their received complaints from ic3 and they would find several on this kid. They didnt even bother doing anything then!

Most people on this forum, if not all, that have filed ic3 complaints when someone here scammed them never got a response from anyone about it. I would still file the complaint there, but I would also pursue other methods, like calling the police where he lives directly and filing a complaint there too.

Just offering my help and knowledge and the fact that my federal district has the highest prosecuting rate of cyber crime. THere has been over 2,000 arrests and convictions in my federal district. See the feds can prosecute if they want if they are not happy with the state out come they step in. I have seen many people get let off in state court and are like sweet i got off, only to walk outside the court house and get the cuffs slapped on buy the feds. Just wanted to offer some help. I would contact his local police. I would file a small claims case just to prove a point!

I don't want to go to the police too prematurely, I will allow some time... maybe another couple weeks before I contact any authorities. Hopefully before then, everything has been worked out and contacting the police is not necessary

Hey man, sorry if my earlier post sounded rude, that wasnt the intention. Thanks for your input, seriously. And I agree--the feds will do more about this issue. A lot of the time though it is still a matter of having to pressure the authorities into doing something. The feds too--they are trying to oversee the entire nation as their jurisdiction and often it takes persistence to make them go after a $200 thief.

I have called the Covington police department and I have also filed a complaint with ic3.gov

at this point I get to wait

His local police left a bit to be desired.... they just referred me to ic3.gov

I'll keep calling them and maybe they'll do something....

Also, I tried calling Kevin's phone number yesterday and I received the "this phone number has been disconnected" response... hmmm

You need to call them back and inform them that if they do not do anything that they will be named in a civil lawsuit naming them for not doing anything. its amazing how good things work when a lawsuit is thrown around. Also mention to them that you have been in contact with the local media!

Hell if i was there i am pretty sure i would get your money buy just getting out of the car and knocking on his door. At 6'3 and 275lbs of muscle will change his mind!

I feel as though i'm getting the jerk around since i'm on the other side of the country and I can't just show up on his doorstep to take my parts or money back from him.

I bet that craigslist post will be changed as soon as he realizes that you put it up on here. BUT, since he is still selling parts that should he has money to pay me back!

Peter i would now contact a mod to get his isp info or provider and contact them to let them know there service is being used for crime and to further a scheme. They can also press charges for this and at the least shut his service down. Send them all the proof we talked about as well.

I'm sorry, but I felt the need to post this. This guy is not being honest with this deal. Aside from the earlier statements that dont add up, there are others. For example, he said this on the 12th:

But as of 5/22, he is selling those gold mesh rims on craigslist. I would post the link here but it contains contact info so I will leave it out for now. If you do a search on craigslist for his girlfriend's pnoe number that you have there will be 8 links that show up where he is selling parts, and those rims are one of them.

At this point, between the lies we've already uncovered, the fact that he was caught trying to buy a car for these rims plus $300 at the same time he claimed that he didnt have your $210, I am recommending that you do not take his word for it. There are just way too many things in this issue that are not adding up. Too much funny business and statements that later get proven to be BS. Says that a friend lives with him in his house but he isnt working--how do the bills get paid? honestly, I think he lives at home with parents still, could be wrong but thats what it looks like from here. And everything that supposedly belongs to this "friend" ends up being attached to him instead, like posts that are made and parts that he's selling.

Note--this is NOT to stir up crap--this is info that is 100% relevant and needs to be noted in here. Kevin--before you reply with a bunch of nonsense, save your breath. I am not interested in a cursing reply with more stories or excuses in it. I certainly understand that people fall on hard times, but why the need to lie about everything else? Sorry, this all just doesnt add up. Pete--I would press the issue on this one. Waiting the two weeks is not a bad idea but I wouldnt give him one hour more than that before I go to the next step.

The thing is if he has all these parts why cant he sell them here. its cause he ripped someone and cant sell them here he has lists and lists and lists of parts on craigs list.

I see the mods took down the email he sent to me about how his local police are not gonna do anything and how he would kill me if he saw me!

Those pictures of the stuff on craigs list are not his either. If they are your things kevin. Right your name and date on a card and put it next to the camden and take a picture!


I think this last step needs to be mandatory for all sellers on this club now!
