Arrow JOSEPH MATTHEW EWASIK aka Blowenbytwins ripped me off

I'm pretty upset because I got ripped off by a south section forum member.
I purchased a transmission advertised as an s5 t2 with 50k miles on it from him last Monday night.
https://www.rx7club.com/south-sale-w...0-dfw-1041165/
He was a nice guy who responded to my communication quickly when I was interested in buying from him. He even offered to meet me half way and loaded it into my van for me. The transaction went smoothly.
The trouble started the next morning when I met Ari from Rotary Performance who pointed out that the transmission in I had just bought wasn't a t2 OR an s5.
I immediately tried to call and text him. I left him a voice mail explaining the situation, initially giving him the benefit of the doubt thinking that he made a simple mistake and forgot what he had. I sent him a PM that I'm pretty sure he read because I see he's logged in since then. I've called him almost everyday since then at various times hoping he'd decide to talk to me about it.
Unfortunately I live in Houston and he lives west of Fort Worth (about 6 hours away) and I don't know exactly where he lives. I was in Dallas visiting me grandmother when I was off work when I bought this transmission.
If anyone could help he that would be appreciated. If I could get his full name and where he lives that would be helpful.
Thanks,
Philip

Its not S5.

Its not TII.

There is no reason for the seller to be evasive or be a dick about this.

I have sent him a message informing him that he is not allowed to buy or sell on here until this is resolved. Normally, I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt, but youre telling us that you have repeatedly tried to contact him with calls, text messages, PMs, and he has not responded at all. So thats why I went right to this. He was on when I started typing the message but logged off before I sent it, so he will see it next time he logs on.

Thanks, I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt for about 5 days also.
At first I assumed he just made a mistake and would want to fix it considering his good trader rating, and that he's been on the forum for quite a few years.
I'll give him another day or so before I give him negative feedback and start slandering him in the south section.

I just sent him an email. I sent him a message the other day....he has since logged in and ignored my message. So, I sent him an email, giving him two days to respond in this thread. There will be a ban if he does not. There's no good reason why he can log in and continue to ignore this.

Thanks for the help.
It does seem strange to me, he's been a member here for a while and has a good trader rating... I didn't think he'd want to mess that up.
Maybe he already sold his FD and is like "F U RX-7 PEOPLE" or something like that

BTW he actually posted in the original FS thread asking mods the close it because it's sold, lol.

I'm not saying what the seller did was right, it was certainly shady, but I also think that the buyer has to KNOW what they're buying. If you weren't sure of the differences between the transmissions I think you should have brought someone who was more knowledgable.

heres the problem with that--not all buyers know these cars like the old hands do. There is nothing wrong with trusting the seller and expecting them to deliver what they promise. The seller carries the full responsibility to accurately describe what is for sale, not the buyer. This seller has been around a long time with a good selling record, and so there was no reason to doubt him on the surface.

Education is always a good thing, but this forum was built around people helping people--thats how most of us became knowledgeable about these cars. There is no excuse for this and the buyer is not to blame. Ideally, yes, I agree with you, but the overwhelming majority of this country's drivers have no clue what their car's transmission looks like.

Well, OK....

He was logged in again this evening. Still said nothing. So, now that he's ignored email and message from me, and all the attempts you made, he has until the morning to answer or be banned....

I say you plug a phone line into your home computer and set up your home computer to fax his cell phone over and over (and over).

I would also say you could tell his mommy on him - but someone ELSE has already done that.

Lol. I don't have a home computer or home phone. Your method might work great for passing him off, but I don't really think it would help get my money back.

Ok I feel like I need to keep everyone informed on how this got resolved.

I AM happy because I DID get my money back AND I did not have to return the transmission!
The first response I got from Matt was an apology for acting badly, and an offer to refund me and not require me deliver the transmission to Dallas, but that I would message the mods asking to un-ban him.
Before this post RX7roller02 was the only one who knew what happened because I PM'd him as soon as I got the money.

Now for the not-so-happy part of the story.
I had to do hours of research, some with the help of you guys and some on goggle, found out where he worked, and got ahold of his dad (the business owner) to explain that I couldn't get ahold of Matt after feeling ripped off.
Then when asked about it by his dad Matt lied to him, and told him that I was refusing to return the transmission, and immediately banned him from this site because I was mad.
I had to make another account and email the login to his dad in order to prove my side.
Soon after is when I got a very nice email apology from Matt.

I know that Matt has been a member of the forum for many years, and has made good deals with other members who were happy with him... I hope that he just made a bad judgment call for whatever reason, and will not do it again. (maybe he realllly needed the $250 and was too embarrassed to tell me he already spent it and could not return it right away, or maybe he was just hoping that I'd go away if he ignored me) *I just made those scenarios up, I have no idea what he was really thinking*

While I am overall happy about how this turned out, I would be very hesitant to do business with him again, yall can make your own judements here.

I did PM the moderator (rx7roller02) about a week ago letting him know what happened and that sending a message letting him know I had been refunded and that he should unban Matt was part of our deal. I see that BlowenByTwins hasn't been unbanned and I haven't heard back from him yet. I'm a little surprised be that because he was usually quick with communications.

Thanks for those who helped!
