The shop is under his name...anything the comes out of it, comes back to him. Anyone who would let something like that leave the shop is a total sleeze in my book. Not just that, but how he vouched for things that were total lies (and he knew they were lies!!!). That is just wrong to a point of being criminal.

I'm not one to defend this guy but.
Unless those Irons are out of spec, they look normal to me. Sure a totally flat ground iron will give you more compression but thos look ok.....but I don't have a micrometer to check
The Bearing in the Rotor looks normal, unless there is something I can't see. They are all funny colored.
Check the Oil pump per the FSM specs. If a .010" feeler can fit inside the lobes then it is OK.Double check the gap I called out. I am going off of two year old memory.
The only reason I ask these questions is....I'd hate to see you replace parts needlessly
The fact that the Rotors had all the Carbon removed and the coolant seals were free meant that somebody was in there very recently.
Maybe all the peripheral stuff was assembled poorly, but double check the tolerances prior to finding replacements.

Also, you show pictures of damage to the housing that looks to be done by whoever did the port work. However you state in another thread that the port work was not done by Puresports and that the motor seemed strong.

What I state about an engine seeming strong is very vague. I had also hoped beyond hope that the internals of the engine were the bright shining spot of the whole car. This engine has 3000 miles on it, that is excessive wear. Shouldn't worn irons be machined to rebuild an engine properly? And at this point, EVERYTHING he did is getting replaced and re done...saving $100 here or $50 there, reusing an old but close to spec part just isn't worth it when you are talking about the kind of money I am dumping into this car.
Also the most damaging part of the whole build was the fact that the engine had over 10 times the specified e-shaft endplay. Elliot would explain it better, but the front cover was not shimmed properly and this led to extreme stress on the internal bearings of the engine. Load in directions they were not designed to take. It ended in me spinning a pilot bearing on the input shaft of the transmission. That cost me a tranny.
It is just shoddy all the way around. How can anyone defend someone who's engine can't hold up to 3000 miles of basically break in driving?
Rediculous if you ask me....

i can attest that that motor was a mess when it came in the shop. The end play was one of the first, and most obvious things wrong with the motor.

e-shaft endplay was what ended up bringing the car down. It moved so much that it would litterally weld the pilot bearing onto the input shaft. So it was impossible to put the car into gear.
Despite Elliot's disbelief the car did run and idle eventhough it wouldn't go into gear. After he got it apart he said that if he didn't see it run, he wouldn't have believed it did.

If anybody needs another reason to dislike Seth, RX Tuner Magazine would still be in publication today if he had paid what he owed us ... we had a lot of advertisers screw us on payments, but Seth screwed us for more than anyone else. It was really him that pushed my partner over the edge to where he couldn't handle it anymore.
