Deadbeat Bidder/Buyer FourtyOunce
This is regarding the recent sale of my CW Rx7 that I had listed on here as well as Ebay. FourtyOunce was the winning bidder at 22,100.00; after auction ended we spoke within a few days and he said he was trying to get financing. He sent me a txt later that day saying he wouldn't be able to purchase since he could not get a loan. I asked him why he would bid on a vehicle if he didn't haven't the funds figured out...his response was that he thought he could get a loan. I suggesteded Penfed.com and didnt hear any response back through txt.
Here is the information from Ebay for reference.
Item number:111913642664
Buyer ID:poc_jeha
Price:$22,100.00
Sale date:Feb 29, 2016
Beware, FourtyOunce carelessly bids on things without knowing the financial situation. Waste of time for the Rx7club.com community.

If you list again make sure you have a non-refundable deposit due immediately upon auction closure to ensure this doesn't happen a second time. Best of luck, I'd be upset too for the wasted time and the fact that the bidder at $100 less could have been a ready, willing, and able purchaser.

I also noticed you listed the car as having a full exhaust (only for reliability) with mid pipe on a stock ECU car (which isn't reliable).
After the feedback in the for sale ad here you changed the ad to the car having a main cat. So which is it? Are you complaining about a non paying bidder while you are misrepresenting the car?
Should we start a thread here about a bad seller who misrepresents what he is selling?
This is a community of owners who are looking out for buyers and sellers and protecting them from potentially bad deals. Your car may or may not be as advertised. We don't know because you change the ad from previous claims and maybe the buyers didn't want to fly to Florida when you already lost his confidence.
I know you lost mine.

For ZoomZoom; the point of this thread is that a buyer should not bid on a car if they wont buy the car. Ebay allows questions, rx7club has the ability to ask questions through threads and pm's... he didnt do either. This is why this thread is here to warn others of FourtyOunce and his intentions. If he wasnt comfortable, why bid?
Like I said before, feel free to come down and check out the car... bring your boost gauge too.

Hi Zak - I asked a moderator to re-open this thread after you closed it.
As you indicated, yes, I won the bidding for your car. I did call you the day after to reach out to discuss the best course to take regarding payment and to ask a few more questions regarding the car. When we spoke, I had mentioned that I was working closely with a bank to secure financing. Unfortunately, the financing did not work out.
I called you shortly thereafter, and though you seemed disappointed, you were accepting of the situation. Later that night, you had texted me about pursuing financing via PenFed.com via text message. I did not see the message until the morning after, the same time I noticed that you had relisted the car on eBay. I assumed you had moved on.
Your car seems to be a good example of a clean, lightly modded FD. However, in hindsight, after reviewing the For Sale Ad you had here on the Forum in the 3rd Gen section, I am somewhat glad that financing did not work out for me. ZoomZoom highlighted some concerns which I initially missed - where the car was listed as having full exhaust and intake on stock ECU, but then later revised to indicate the car has a stock cat in place of a midpipe. Also it seems that you FS ad on the forum has since been closed for further comment and it seems the car has sold.
For what its worth, I have been a member (for over 15years) here on the forum prior to the crash in 2001, and since that time, I don't recall any negative feedback as a seller or buyer.
I wish you the best of luck on the sale of your car. FWIW, clean CW cars are hard to come by.

I sell on eBay and all questions or concerns should be asked before placing a bid NOT after, You wasted the sellers time and a serious bidder from purchasing the car, it's funny how many concerns you have NOW that you decided you can't afford to pay for the car, As a 15 year veteran you should know better, learn the rules man.
The seller can file a non-payment dispute on ebay and the non paying bidder will receive a strike on his account, a couple of those they will shut it down.

Luckily in the future we will have this thread and the history along with what you pulled and then had the brass to create a bad guy thread. Integrity isnt your strong suit apparently. I wish whoever bought the car the best. If the car ends up with problems maybe they will find this.

But he flaked on the guy BEFORE he learned about the cat issue...which is so easily fixed its not even worth mentioning anyway. Seems like he's clinging to a detail that he didn't even notice until someone else mentioned it.
If it's got good compression, which I'm sure you must have asked about, then who cares?
Clean CWs are hard to come by.

I've publicly acknowledged what has transpired. We all make mistakes, but, like I said, it seems to have worked out (car is marked as SOLD on the FS section) for all minus the short time lost on Zak's part.

The car really does have a cat and is really boosting stock boost. It had it all along, Zak is more of a v8 guy as opposed to rotary. None of what he writes is with the intent of tricking anyone it was something he missed, plus the winning bidder didn't know that, plus compression is solid on the car and lastly you just dont bid unless you have cash or financing lined up, like everyone said. It wasted a week of his time, plus ebay fees he has to get refunded now for $125, plus if the car goes back up again people will start to second guess it. No reason for a non involved member to have trashed the fs thread in the first place and continue to make accusations. It looks like the bidder is apologetic at least and that means something.
Hopefully ebay will become more strict when members do this, as right now bidding on a car and not paying has the consequences of farting in public.
I personally went and checked out the car, test drove it and verified the boost is stock and the car runs perfectly. I've had a handful of FDs since 2002, this is a good car.
