BEWARE: Gary Eastman in San Antonio: BAD SELLER!

I bought a used 12A back in Feb/March of this year from his business partner Gary that he (rotarydude) swore up and down he was legit and trustworthy. Well I gave Gary 400 bucks plus other items for a good used 12a. Gary swore that this 12a i bought from him was perfect, well that ended up being furthest from the truth. The 12a ended up being shot and has no compression. Ive sent rotarydude private messages concerning this matter and left messages on Gary's cell number but they have not returned any of them. Im am done with this bullshit. Yes i would love my money back but i know that won't happen. This thread is for anyone that should come across ROTARYDUDE and his business partner Gary in the future. DO NOT DO ANY TRANSACTIONS WITH THEM. They screwed me over. If rotarydude sees this and wants to correct the situation then ill be happy to hear him out and if corrected I will have this thread deleted. IF not then this will stay here permanently. BEWARE OF ROTARYDUDE AND HIS BUSINESS PARTNER, GARY.

Marcello, it's about damn time you posted this....Sucks that a guy who seemed legit and a good rep let his "partner" screw it up, then won't even step up and correct it.

So did you give him the "other items" personally or was this all shipped?

I have worked with Dave (AKA RotaryDude) for a while now. He is actually who ended up with the Re-Speed widebody.

Dave was sent to Iraq a few months ago. He will be gone for a year or so. I will call his wife and see if I can get her to call you.

PM me your name and number when you get a chance.

Hey Cello, sorry to hear about your problems with Gary. I've never dealt with him, but I have dealt with Dave a good bit and have had nothing but good dealings with him. He's the guy that donated all the old-school manuals that have been scanned and hosted at Vintage, and he shipped them cross-country to a guy he didn't know.

Like Billy said, Dave isn't in-country and could probably use a little slack given the circumstances, but I don't see any reason why Gary can't make things right with you.

Sorry to hear it.

Aw 'Cello, I feel awful for you man. Especially considering I bought that other FB you were looking at when you were looking for an engine. I'm actually having issues with that car, but the engine is strong as ever, so if you're interested in the car, PM me and we'll work something out.

EDIT: Guess I should mention that I'm trying to sell the whole car as a parts car because I'm having issues getting a title. Interior is okay, but the body has some serious rust issues.

You have helped me more than you know. Thank YOU!!!! Ignore my original post here about Dave! He is legit through and through. Dave when you get into town call me and we will have a BBQ and drink some beers!

Exclamation Beware GARY EASTMAN: BAD SELLER

I would like to ask that the title be changed to reflect the correctness of the situation. Once I found out about this, please remember I am in Iraq right now. We contacted Marcello, I asked him to get with Gary first (BTW gary is/was my friend not my business partner). Yes Gary used to do work and sell stuff out of my shop and I did what I could to help him out. After a lengthy time Gary did not resolve the issue (why I don't know) however with no resolution on this and my name still being bad because of MY FRIEND, I went back to Marcello and asked him to contact my wife who is in San Antonio to get a resolution on this. Although it took some time because all parties are very busy we were able to get with Marcello to try and make things right I hope that he is happy with the outcome.

I have not posted here previous because we have been trying to resolve this and until I had something definative to say, either f-off (which is not the case) or we have been able to do something it would only add fuel to a fire.

I have always tried to be fair and upfront in every deal I have had with any member of the rotary community if someone feels slighted by me I only ask that they come to me and I will try to fix it. I was for a long time unaware of this situation and then I worked hard to try to get the right person (GARY) to step up and do what is right.

Now for the bottom line, the person Marcello had the problem with is GARY EASTMAN. Gary is still in the San Antonio area and he still has rotary and other stuff. If you choose to deal with him do so at your own risk. I will not vouch for any parts, cars or other stuff being sold by him. He no longer works or lives at our shop, further our shop is a private enterprise not a business. He is supposed to be moving all of his stuff from our shop what he is going to do with it I don't know but it won't be there. The only way I will vouch for something from our shop is if my wife sells it. Or I do when I get back from Iraq.

So please change the title to beware of GARY EASTMAN
