12:31 - Alex = Teddyrx2 - San Diego, CA

Took a part off my car. Did not put it back on. Did not let me know he kept it. When I find out 2 weeks later he will not mail it I must drive 200 miles to pick it up. Then when I do he said he threw it in a pile of garbage that came out of his house when he cleaned it out. this is what he had to say.

That's some bullshit. Threads like these need to be made stickies or something. Customer service goes a long way, especially when there is a problem. On the bright side, I doubt that anyone reading this thread will give these clowns the time of day now that they've seen what kind of "business" they run, so you have quite possibly saved a lot of people time and money. Thanks for that!

hahaha. wow. I can vouch for teddy, and chris they are both nice guys, and do awsome work. just **** happens. and some times people **** up. they did work on my car, i paid cash up front too, big deal. im sure if you would have suggestetd like pay like 60% on pick up and they other 40% on finished arival it woulda been cool. but some times money is tight, and you need money to buy the stuff, let alone pay for gas and food. and so the **** what if they live with their mother, doesnt give you the right to rag on her. i dont care who you are, you should never rag on any ones mom. you can hate all you want but in the end what are you acomplishing? every shop has haters. mebe they wont get bizz nass because of this thread, mebe they will.

based on this thread, teddy seems immature and vulgar. He also has an unhappy customer that he's blowing off. I've run two different rotary shops now, and this is definitely not the way to do business. Your vouch doesn't count for much, sorry.

 

well, it may not, im not say that teddy dealt with the situation the best he could have. but common **** happens. i cant speak for the guy who got "screwed" over, but i can speak for my self, and i have always been treated fairly and recieved good service by them.

and they dont they dont have all the time in the world to work on cars. they both have jobs and go to school. on top of trying to get their shop going.

Yes he is. Your "Teddy" friend jerked him around and is withholding a part that is not his. Clearly illegal by the way. Then "Teddy" comes on here and acts like a junior high kid and calls everybody names. Get a clue dipshit.

 

From what I can tell he did not deal with the situation the best he could. If he is looking to make a business for himself he should really learn how to deal with customers on a professional level. Regardless if he feels he is being wronged he should realize that he is going to be loosing more money in the long run by having a bad reputation then he would by taking a hit from a customer. If he is in school then he should not get in over his head and take in more work than he can handle.

Not everybody gets along with everybody. However in these kinds of situations a business owner needs to look at the big picture, bite his tongue, and fix the problem. Not blow it off and insult his customer.

From what i could tell the quality of his work was decent. He seemed like he was starting to do well for himself. But look at where he is at now over what appears to be a couple hundred doller dispute.

That's just bulls**t right there.

OK - so you have other jobs that make you money and go to school on top of all that - nothign wrong with that. But if you're going to book people in and alot time, then stick to it. I run a shop myself and there will be delays with some stuff, and some people leave open ended deadlines to work with - but if someone is dead set on X amount of days X amount of down time - YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN, THATS WHY THEY"RE PAYING YOU.

And if you can't make it happen for whatever reason (and 3 days into 6 weeks is unheard of - thats like a 6000% increase in downtime!) the LAST thing you do start givign the customer attitude and excuses - because there AREN'T any excuses. If there was real legitimate reasons for it then fine, but he didn't even get the work done after all that time!

Don't over promote. The key is - Under-promise and over-deliver.

The answering machine message souds like a pre-maddona 16y/o boy whining. Not a business MAN.

Edit: bottom line I'm getting at is the customer shouldn't have to suffer because the "shop" has more priorities. Thats not the way it works - the shop is there to serve the customer when the customer wants - not the other way around. Taking the job on and then saying your too busy is BS. Especially if the person is insistent on turn around.

For example, as a body shop I do collision repairs, insurance work as well as the fun stuff. If I ahvea customer who wants his '62 Nova painted, he's going to know how my schedule works and that I can't control when people get in accidents. If he's not OK with that and wants it in X number of days/weeks the price is adjsuted so I can allow myself the time (or overtime) necessary to make it happen in the time frame. I don't go 8 times over the deadline and then bitch at the customer that I've got bigger fish to fry.

 

I hate when "shops" use your money to float the last project.....

 

This is a classic case of "Bit off more than can chew" on Teddy's part.

School is not an excuse when you've booked so much work. This should have been accounted for in your business plan.

This Message is from Chris. 1st off it's hard to understand. Not sure what he said but I did catch the jist of it. So 1st of all;

1. I called you and you said it was in a box (box WTF) and you would look when you got home. Ok fine

2. Then I get the call few hours later from your (posted up) and 2 PM messages from him. Both saying don't call don't message stop calling... well everyone heard it.

3. Then you call today. 4 calls. And say why don't I talk to you? Why didn't I call you. Umm... I did and your brother called me back. Why? Who knows.

So are you serious? You must have been the one who told your brother I called about the pan. I only call you and not him. What is wrong with these people?

Lawyer threat? How about I sue you. All I wanted was my part back after all the crap you put me through. And was even going to drive there to pick it up. But no.

Stolen parts. Not willing to return.
damaged LSD bolt. (stripped, thanks for that Teddy)
IC damage and replacement costs.
Pipes I had to pay for and are the wrong size.
Cut hood support on the car.
No honoring the original deal and keeping more then half of my money.
Pain and suffering and distress.
Court and lawyer fee's

Falsely advertising. (Already printed all the pages out) Posting people's car on the forum as previous work done and collecting CASH. IRS know? I bet everything you don't file.

You think this is bad? I have much much more that has been left unsaid. Send me back my part and we will be done. Now I want YOU guys, 12:31 people to stop calling me and messaging me. You are blocked.
