wow...just seen this for the first time. really wish i seen this prior.

i have a S5 front clip from them i ordered. havnt started it yet. but i did the complete RHD swap on the car. so far everything is ok. but i havnt compression tested it yet. but i removed the BAC from the manifold and there was this wierd sludge in it. almost like silicone. got me worried about having really dirty cooling system. i already dropped the motor it. maybe i should pull it to check everything...

any tips on cleaning the coolant system without opening the motor?

******* ****...

Basically, never have anything shipped ever. Go there, and when you do, run a compression test and check turbo play on the spot. That way you can be sure to get a quality product. Don't let them push you around either, it's your legal right to test the product and ensure it is running properly as they say it is, and you are allowed to on ANYTHING with a limited or no warranty.
I'm shopping for a 13b-rew to get at the end of the summer, and you can be sure I'll be down their throat with the business bureau on speed dial and a copy of buyer rights if they give me any sass. They also can't refuse to sell you the part because you want to test it

just don't deal with tiger.

don't bother testing their junk, just BUY ELSEWHERE.

even if you do all the tests in the world and then have a problem down the road, you're still screwed.

Damn...

I was looking to pick up a front clip, called them today actually to ask about shipping.

Anyone know of a good place in southern Ontario to get a clip from?

I've got an NA auto at the moment and would like to swap to a 5 speed turbo, front clip seems the best bet.

Thanks,

Mike

My buddy just bought a JDM FD from them. Called me up to tell me he bought a car. I asked where. I thought I had more time to research ****, but he bought sooner than I expected.

The car has some shipping damage on the roof (a few dents) and scuffs here and there. Bought it for around $7500. Needs painting. Only has 44,400km. Underneath is perfect.

The car pulls hard, and everything seems mechanically sound, as far as we can tell by driving, except for a rear wheel bearing. No blue smoke when driving hard, passed emmissions test like a brand new car. Changed the oil 2 times in one week, and new plugs just before the emmissions test.

He's only had the car for a week, but things look good so far. I'm hoping he's one of the lucky ones.

Either way I'll keep the list updated.

I miss Jarco Inc. I bought a complete S5 swap with a ton of goodies from them and got a warranty as well. ( I have also bought multiple engines from JARCO). I have never heard a single good thing about Tiger.

Well, I have a motor coming from them. We'll see what happens. I am tearing it down to rebuild anyway. Fun times. Oh well.

honestly surprised this place hasn't been sued into oblivion yet.. regardless of what they write on a piece of paper, luckily what is written does not always follow the law and/or stand up in court.

To their credit, my dad did tell me the manager was polite when he first went in there. lol.
lol yeah next time i do a compression test on my motor im gonna drain the oil first lol

My guess is that the gentleman you are making fun of was not talking about oil as in 20-50 but that they added (insert fluid of choice) to the spark plug holes to try and make sure the engine would spin freely by hand aka break up carbon/unstick seals.

Granted I wouldn't buy a motor without a proper compression test but if someone wants to use a socket to spin the motor and listen for equal "puffs" then more power to them. =)

Khris, why are you looking at picking up JDM crapshoot junk motors? Your FD was running great the other day

Nagano Japanese in much better than tiger, I was there in december with a buddy picking up a black top sr,

All the shops sell the rotary motors without warranty now, but you are allowed to compression test them. I believe the compression test their motors and put up a video of that specific engine.

another great engine seller in http://www.jdm-online.com/ , but they had no 13bs in stock when i saw there.

and http://www.enginelandinc.com (

There is about 20-25 JDM engine importers on the montreal island so there is alot of variety, and its not like one is always better than the other, but

engineland and jdm online "usually" pick great motors. Nagano also good as they have 3 or 4 sister shops.
