Terrible product and customer service from RACEONUSA

I purchased a nose for my Miata from Raceonusa. The transaction went fine, until opening the box. I was almost immediately disappointed in the quality of the product they sold me.

The body line that abuts the hood, is wavy, not a constant radius, like is should be. Holding it place against the stock hood, it dips in the middle to where it is close to a 1/4" below the level of the hood. The gaps where it abuts the fender ranges from 1/8" to up wards of 3/8".

There are two pieces on either end that appear to have been scabbed into the mold. Someone did a lousy job trying to blend these in, but they stick out close to 1/4" from the rest of the nose. There are stress cracks in the fiberglass, missing marker light mounting tabs and lots of bubbles, cracks and scratches in the gel coat.

I called the day the nose arrived, the 13th of November, to tell them I did not want this nose. Raceonusa, basically played dumb and wanted photos. Which were sent of various angles and of all the areas I had concern with. I spoke with a guy named Henry, who keeps telling me "he has to discuss this with his boss".

At the end of the six conversations I have had with him, it was always ended with he will call me tomorrow. Henry has never returned a single phone call, I always have to call him, every time with the same answer, "he will show the photos to his boss" or "he will talk to his boss". When I asked to talk to his boss, he always "just stepped out".

Raceonusa, will refund my money, less what I already paid for shipping, but I have to pay for the shipping back to them. If it was something I changed my mind about, I can see that. The quality of this product should never have been sold, it is really that bad.

The first two photos are the passenger side, without and then with flash of the mystery body line, with the terrible job of trying to blend it in. The third photo is the same on the drivers side.

Fourth photo, is the wavy body line where it matches to the fender, note that it follows the fender pretty good until the large gap at the top.

Fifth photo, is holding the nose, so that it touches both corners of the hood, notice the dip in the middle.

MY ADVICE, DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM RACEONUSA

Maybe you need to dispute the shipping charges (to you) with your CC company as well. Might be worth a shot, fight back with a CHARGEBACK.

Welcome to the world of aftermarket fiberglass parts! lol, but seriously I make molds and parts and by the looks of that piece they did not take the time to put their mold back together and line it up properly. Rather then fix the mold they decided to continue with lay up of the bumper.Either that or perhaps the mold has not been stored properly (on a stand) and the pieces of the mold have warped in a way that they CANT be put back together properly. Quality is variable at best and as the old saying goes,"you get what you pay for." Just because you get a Genuine piece absolutely does not mean it will fit perfect though, I have a genuine Border front bumper on my FD and it fitted better then the knockoff quality but still not perfect.

LESSON: STOP buying products from "RACEONUSA"!!!!!

I've said this before on this forum in several threads, but I'll repeat myself here: RaceonUSA makes possibly some of the WORST aero parts on this planet. They are seriously junk and their customer service is absolute ****! They tried pulling the same scam on me a LONG time ago when I needed replacement covers for my c-west headlights. Their piece of **** parts wouldn't even fit over my lights and they were trying to give me a hard time for a refund. In the end, they made me pay shipping costs also. Good luck...

Hmm. After reading this, i think i'll pay the extra $400 and go with extreme dimensions, vis or tcsportline........ I can do alot with fiberglass, fixing something like that after already paying money would take more time and effort than i'd be willing to put forth when the part should have fit close enough in the first place.

Anybody heard any bad things about kgsengineering's kits?

******** are always trying to make a quick buck and really dont give a **** about the customer but simply feed off the industry that the customer creates.

^ The TCSportline hood I have doesn't fit worth a damn. Sits too high off the latch and the gaps around the headlights and along the bumper are terrible. I've heard from a few others that a lot of their stuff doesn't fit right.

Honestly, I can say that I am not surprised by this whole transaction. I pretty much expected to get something that was sub par, but just not as bad as this. It is going on a race car, so I know the front end will get knocked around. If it would match up with the leading edge of the hood, I could live with it.

I did a couple of internet searches on RACEONUSA, I did not find any negative comments about them.

I just hung up with my credit card company to dispute the charges, so RACEONUSA will probably start calling me now.

i made the mistake of buying a whole kit plus fenders from them. the fitment is no were NEAR bolt up. i had to do hours of cutting and sanding just so that it would look LESS shitty. when i went to there warehouse to pick it up they had a bunch of shady people laying the fiberglass molds that looked like they knew nothing about what they were doing. i had the same problem with my front bumper. the only way they get away with it is in the fine print were they tell you that sanding/cutting and professional installation is recommended. they dont tell you that you have to pretty much have to cut and re lay all the pieces to even get them close to fitting.

I will say that my body shop had to do alot of extra work on the bumper I bought from Raceonusa to get a proper fitment. I raised hell with Henry and got a partial refund/credit.

ShineAuto is located right next to Raceon...or they were...people who buy ebay quality **** (raceon) can't expect nice parts..body kits need a lot of work to make them look nice. Even my buddies $1500 hood he bought from Japan for his Honda S2000 needed a lot of fitment adjusting.

My ShineAuto kit only needed minor stuff, which means they have premium ****.

Bottom line. Ebay company = Ebay quality.
