like i said he likes to offer parts to people and sell them to the first person who pays for it. it doesnt matter that he offered it to you. to him its first come first serve. even though he offers it to you. so be careful when buying from fritz flynn.

What was the timeline between you contacting him and the part being sold?

See copies of PMs below

I thought it had been 24 hours OR SO

Apparently more like 14 hours. My mistake. Ordinarily I'd give it about 24

I also thought he had bumped his own thread when it was someone else. Again my mistake.

We are talking about a 97 dollar part.

Him making this big of a deal over this is really quite interesting and believe me I won't forget it.

See PMs below

thanks but like i said that wont get me the part i was looking for.

I don't care about 100 dollars

sorry you missed this one

i sent you a message right after you offered it to me and asked for a picture. which you never sent so i sent the money the day after without receiving a picture. its not like i found your listing on the parts forum, you posted on my ad and you sell it to the first person who sends you the money. if you are going to reply to an ad make sure you let that person have the first pick since, YOU offered it to me first.

I can kinda see him getting pissed though, I mean you can't expect everyone to be on the computer at the same time you are and 14 hours is not really enough time to give someone before moving on. I generally try to give 24+ hours to a buyer and two specific notices of such before I move on to the next one, because I know how much it sucks to get stuff sold out from under you just because you had stuff to finish before you could get back on the computer and finish a deal. It would have been different if he just offered casual interest in a thread you posted or something, and you sold it before he actually said "hey, can I buy that?". If he actually said "I want to buy it, pending more info/pics/whatever" and you sold it anyway, that's kinda crappy. I guess neither really happened here, neither of you were clear with the other, so it is what it is I guess. Maybe you both could take something away from this about more clear communication.

Thanks Kevin and I agree and I apologized

Starting this thread is effing stupid IMO especially over some BS like this and that's what's going to leave an impression on me.

Again I'm sorry Edgar didn't get his allotted amount of time I made a mistake I AM SORRY!!!!!!

Mistakes happen, and one clearly has happened here. Fritz apologized, not sure what more can be done. I've used Fritz for years for quality used FD parts and have referred tons of guys to him as well. He's always been a stand-up guy in my book and delivers on his promises with quality parts. Just my 0.2!

I agree, he is the go to guy for those hard to find FD parts.

I agree with everyone, but still I contacted him as soon as I could. What I've done and what Fritz should have done is refund the other buyer and sold the part to me. I've sold plenty of things on here and no matter what I always gave the first guy priority. I've also refunded money to second pick buyers because the first buyer wanted the part and I had given him priority. Anyone can send money if you put your paypal info in a post. But I always verify that I get the money from the first guy and if other buyers send money I refund it no matter what.

It's not that it's a 97 dollar part it's that it's a part that is extremely rare to come across. As you can see it's even sold from underneath people. You always see on post "is sale falls through I'll take it" which means people respect that someone has priority since they did post first. I always give like 2-3 days for the person. I have never posted interest in a wanted ad because I know someone is looking for the part and I don't want to steal a part from someone who is looking for it.

Had it been hours later I'd be a little more sympathetic however in your case it was 14 hours and I'm equally unhappy with your behavior regarding this situation so clearly we'll agree not to do business together.

Tell you what, I have a tweak it idler sitting on my work bench right now that I will sell you for the same $97 shipped. As everyone knows we stopped selling used parts many years ago, but since we have always had great experiences with Fritz and if this will clear this misunderstanding up, I am willing to part with it. Send $97 via Paypal to sales@banzai-racing.com and it will get shipped out today.

Want to make one thing perfectly clear

The other buyer paid before I had any contact at all from Edgar

I can't afford to care if someone sells something out from under me because it happens constantly and usually it's cars not 97 dollar so called RARE pullies. I move on, life is a big enough PIA without this sort of BS.

First of all, I have nothing to do with anything that happened here. But just seeing how Banzai helped out a fellow rx7 member gives me a warm feeling. I am going to be ordering the block off plates from Banzai very soon partly because of this.

wow

I have been ripped a new one by a lot of rotary people and while I read this it is great to know that there are some good people that have good moral and have good business practices. I am currently doing some upgrades and maintenance on my fd and I will be making a mental note based on this thread. Banzai and Fritz good work.

Looks like the OP overreacted. I've bought stuff from Fritz in the past and my and many others' experiences are all positive , he's an honest member of our forum, we all make small mistakes here and there. Luckily Banzai had an idler pulley and was willing to sell it to fix the situation. Good on him.

Wow! Banzai, you're awesome! That's the way it should always be in this community. I just installed a PFC and Banzai Auto Trans adapter following their FREE write up on their website and everything works awesome. Also bought a small part from Fritz in the past and had NO problems with him. Both are an asset to rx7club.

Banzai is definitely a great bunch of people and an asset to our little rotard community, but lets not forget who they're hooking the guy up for.

Thanks Fritz, for the endless amount of parts you provide for us all. I've personally bought more than one thing and it's always been in great shape for a good price.
I'm stoked this all worked out...Don't let threads like this make you think you're service and work isn't appreciated around here!
