Why?

I don't know if he has been banned, but according to the Bad Members section, a bunch of people had bad transactions with him, and then he sort of disappeared

yep, he went south with a few people's money.

basically in the last 6 months he's been selling off all his junk parts that should have been thrown away, and he knew they were junk.

sucks because he used to get those hard to find parts, and had a good reputation but turned to the dark side.

It's too bad there are no reputable members currently advertising a 13bt swap setup for sale.

Also, it's about time that I can come out and talk about what a d!ck that guy was and all the shady **** he used to do when I did business with him.

Until now 1) too many people would sackride and defend him to convince other buyers that he was shady, and 2) I was not allowed to be on this forum to talk about it even if I wanted to try.

I used to buy parts from him constantly, including seals, rotors, rotor housings, irons, etc. We're talking anywhere from $1000-2500 per month. IT started out well and great at the beginning, but as time went on he started sending me shittier and shittier parts. Soon he was sending me full-on rusted rotors with all the seals LOCKED in place due to sitting in water for years. I was paying $375 for straight up titanic **** that he claimed was a "clean virgin set with no damage". When I complained and told him they were not usable, he claimed he had a method to remove the side seals without damaging the rotors, that I should also be able to do this and thus wind up with a great condition set of rotors, and that in the future I could pay him additional money to do the work to the (junk) rotors he sent me if I preferred. I told him that was not acceptable and that he needed to stop sending me junk and return to sending me usable clean parts like he used to. Then he said he no longer wanted to do business with me if he couldn't sell his junk to me for hundreds of dollars each.

Another former builder and friend used to order stuff from him and have similar issues. Once he ordered 4 cores and specified that none could be cosmo RE, none could be rusted/coolant seal, and none could be previously (obviously) taken apart. In other words, low compression or blown apex seal motors were fine. He paid like 2000+ for the cores and several hundred more in shipping. What shows up? A pallet with a bunch of junk...something like one blown apex FD motor, one full of rust and water, a cosmo block and one that had obviously been pieced together out of parts of others. Out of all of that there were only a handful of good usable parts. It took months of pestering him to get a few replacement components to make the deal good.

That guy would rape you while telling you what a great deal he was giving you and that you should be lucky you found him.

I've seen you selling them from time to time, but I'm sure that's rare.

So rare that I've had one listed for about a year now for under 3 grand built-to-spec with all accessories/wiring/ecu/sensors/etc. and no bites.

Everyone wants something cheap and the truth of the matter is that there is no cheap way to do the entire swap.

Most people half *** it and end up with a Turbo engine with all or almost all NA drive train.

I've seen a few guys trying to use NA ecus on their Turbo swap as well, like seriously???

He did good for me, although I never had any very large dollar transactions with him. I was shocked to see some bad threads about him after how well he came recommended and how he had treated me. I even defended him at first, but after a while there was just no help but accepting the fact that the guy was selling crap. Sucks too, he used to be a great person to deal with and made some really nice accessories as well.

i also never received any junk from him, even only months before the **** went down. an FD rotor in near new condition and a new S5 thick cast rear iron with no issue.

i never had many dealings with him but the half dozen or so all went well.

problem is/was the good parts had to dry up sometime, and i suspect it started biting him in the ***. but you can't turn around and expect people to eat it.

that junk $5800 20B motor was a replacement(upgrade) for an engine that i built for Mike, but he decided to go 3 rotor versus stay REW.

About a year ago I bought a shitty NA parts car out of spartanburg SC. It was a faded blue 88 4 lug SE/base, a crappy painted on racing stripe down the roof/hood, and a bunch of **** painted yellow inside the car.

Someone had put a jspec turbo engine in. They literally had cork inserted into hose ends, wires hanging bare, clear aquarium hose for vacuum line, wood screws in the end of vacuum hoses, etc. The NA hood had a hole cut in it and an autozone plastic hood scoop glued to the top to try and funnel air into the TMIC. Had the stock radiator, no fan or shroud, and a tiny 10 inch e-fan in the middle held on with zipties.

Had an NA ECU, NA AFM, and NA pressure sensor. Had the NA drivetrain still. Totally rigged up.

Engine was locked up, so I figured that it was rusted inside due to bad coolant seals from the efan situation. I pulled it out expecting the entire engine block to be junk.

As I got down to it I could tell the block was actually a rebuild, then I realized it was a series 5. I took the (NA) flywheel off to discover that it had been overtightened and smashed into the rear stat gear/bearing. I took the block apart and it was all perfectly intact (other than the damaged e-shaft and stat gear). It looked like a very low mile rebuild, full streetport, new rotors, new rotor housings, thick casting irons, all new rotor seals. Some dumbf**k had taken an engine block that probably cost at least 3 grand and rigged it up into his shitty car that way and it never ran again. That's just a testament to how dumb people are with these things.

Really? Two of my posts in this very thread have been edited for BS reasons? I guess things haven't changed as much around here as I was led to believe.

Also if J2La is no longer a member, why do we need "member protection" from people knowing his ebay account?

Just go ahead and ban me for 5 more years if this is how it is going to be.

Don't say that, I'd hate to see that happen, you've helped me so much with alot of things.

You are honest, you don't sugar coat the truth-you say it how it is, and that's a good thing.

well you would have to be certain the ebay seller is the same person.

as far as swearing, i have no clue why that is being clamped down on. the few reasons i like this forum is your ability to say what you want(in at least all but one section).

Let's go at this a different way.

J2LA was known to sell anodized custom pulley sets and oil caps on this forum, was he not?

You can no longer buy them here for obvious reasons. However, you could always search other areas of the internet for something similar. Let's all go have a look on ebay for "rx7 anodized pulley" or "rx7 cnc anodized oil cap" and see if any other sellers may be offering a similar product.

Oh look. There is a similar product. The seller specifies a slow shipping turnaround after purchase. The seller is located in Los Angeles. Maybe it is Brian's brother or something.
