Difficult time installing CJ Motorsports fuel pump hanger

I purchased the CJ Motorsports dual intake fuel pump assy and this as been the biggest pile of crap I have ever purchased in my entire life. It came with no instructions and the ones on the website are terrible, and for a 350Z.

I installed the pumps, but guess what! You need to pay someone $156 to have someone make a 360 loop for the pump to somewhat fit the provision that is no where near lining up. furthermore, where the wire goes into the terminal, it does not even click in! I put my whole body into it lifting me off the ground and still nothing! I then c-clamped it until I heard a crack. Great! Ruined! Hardline, ruined trying to get this thing to fit. Fuel level sensor, ruined because there is not enough wire for where you have the terminals.

Thank you CJ Motorsports for making a terrible product and wasting 50 hours I have tried spending to make your garbage product work!

LOL please post it for sale if you didn't break it because we are back-ordered badly on them.

1. You should have contacted us.

2. No Instructions? Its a fuel pump hanger. If you dont understand what to do, you are not qualified to be installing it or to be working on a car that needs TWO Bosch Pumps. You should have emailed us.

3. The provisions do not line up because its physically impossible. The Bosch pumps are so large that the second one has to hang so far out, that the Boschs output isnt even under the fuel pump assembly, it hands out the side!!! Also, if you had to "pay someone $156" to loop a hose... Well, I don't even know what to say. I think you need to start another thread about being ripped off.

4. The wires that go in the terminals didnt click because you either didnt crimp them correctly, or you didnt take the LOCK out that prevents them from coming out or going in. You cant even begin to hate on the connector LOL its an OEM part.

5. Not enough wire for level sensor? We dont even provide level sensor wire. If you are trying to use your stock one... extend it.

6. The REASON that you cannot purchase TWIN BOSCH KITS on our own website is to prevent people who have no idea what they are doing from purchasing them. We have always said that the installation on that piece is very difficult and that we always recommend the Walbro for someone looking for an easy install.

7. If you would have realized that you were in over your head and contacted us, I would have offered to assemble the thing for you so that you could just drop it in. Your decision to throw a childish temper tantrum here, while far more amusing, doesn't really inspire me to help. Why dont you just send the thing back and I will refund you cash for whatever parts you didn't completely ruin.

i have the CJM twin bosch fuel pump assembly and i had none of the issues the OP mentions. Its an extremely tight fit but theres no way round it if you want the twin bosch pumps. Its so tight that you need to remove the fuel level sensor to install/remove the assembly IN TANK.

The only issue i had with this assembly, which again i believe theres no way round it, is the oem piece that goes on top of the assembly. I had a piece of aluminum water jetted and all my problems were solved

Ok I'm over it now.

If you still want to run it, Send it back with your pumps. I will get it all ready for installation and give you detailed instructions on what you have left to do to get it running.

Is this a compliment, or an insult?

To the OP,

Sorry for the problems you have experienced. PFS's even had a hard time installing the twin Bosch assembly for ErnieT. This is a extremly tight fit and I think phunk, my buisness partner is going out of his way to make this right. Suprisingly enough, since you blatenly are insulting our products with out even contacting us with your problems or concerns befor you broke things.

I can't comment on the quality of CJM's products but their customer service and credibility seems top notch from their actions in the thread.

I don't know if I would have been a big enough man to do the same as all the issues seem to be on the OP's inability to handle the technical aspects of the install. I probably would have told him to go F himself in a nice way.

Way to handle this CJM...you guys come across as a class act and better people than me.

not trying to be rude man but how hard is it to make a fuel rail you take a piece of steel or aluminum drill a few holes for injectors one big hole throught the piece get a tap and dye thread it and VOILA!

The point is if CJM is making products that aren't up to snuff and wont work with our members then we need to support our members by boycotting them or at least encouraging the manufacturer to make things right. If we dont support our members the manufacturers will know that they can treat us how they want and they wont lose sales. we need to let all manufacturers know that you screw one of us you could really hurt your business so dont mess with rx7 owners.

However if the OP isnt working with the manufacturer for a resolution than he cannot expect much help from here.

rotorooter93fd;

1: you obviously havent seen our fuel rails. We have never made a fuel rail how you explain. Ours are nothing like that, and thats why they are the highest quality, period... and people LOVE them. Because we did something different that everyone else does how you just explained.

2: Our products are more than up to snuff. They are the best of the best. CJ Motorsports HAS NOT screwed with this customer. This customer was just over his head in an install that he was not qualified for.

3: You clearly have no experience with CJM products... so do not come in here and start talking about boycotting us when you have no idea what is going on. This is a case of a single irrational and emotional raging customer who botched his own install and is looking for someone to blame. Period. He hasnt even pointed out a single quality issue... read his post, all he does is complain that he couldn't figure out how to install it.

This thread is a joke.

I'm throwing my $.02 as well as support towards CJ here...

First, let's look at what's trying to be accomplished here. You're taking two huge pumps that are almost as large as the opening itself, and creating a drop-in solution. Each setup will be a little different, though there is some standardization. As you may have seen, if you looked, there are many ways to skin the cat, if you will.

I've seen hard lines, I've seen looped lines. I've seen some great wiring and crap. Personally, I fall into the latter with my lines and hopefully former with wiring, albeit overkill. It's not that hard to figure out what needs to be done to get them installed.

I had no problems with the wiring. If you did it right, and it sounds like you didn't, it fits fine. What gauge wiring did you use? I did 10 and it was perfect. If you had to pay someone to make up some lines, that's your own issue, not theirs. Making a couple small lines with some 90 deg fittings isn't that hard at all. Hard lines is definitely possible as well as you'll see on other threads. There are several ways you could have done your lines, but perhaps it wasn't thought through?

In terms of the level sensor wiring, it's fragile to begin with. If you mishandle it, it will break. Mine did...about three times. That's no fault of the kit. There is plenty of length if you do it properly.

From my first kit, to my current kit, these guys have been nothing but helpful, responsive, and generally great to work with.

In terms of the quality, fit, and finish...there's none better that I've seen.

Perhaps a little more mechanical inclination would be in order for your next project.

From the look of things, CJM was more than willing to help you out if you would have just asked. When you first ran into trouble, you should have called/emailed and said: "I didn't receive any installation instructions with my package and I am having a hard time with the install. Is it possible to send me the instructions for xxxx?"

I know you are probably like most guys who do not want to ask for help and don't want to use instructions. I know how that goes. Sometimes you have to just swallow your pride and just ask for help.
