Attention all members, read this before you post feedback here!
Folks,
We are having a lot of issues recently with the way that these threads are proceeding. Because of this, we are implementing these rules for posting. If you choose not to follow these rules, your feedback thread or post will be edited and if it continues to be an issue, I will start deleting them and infractions will be handed out accordingly. We know that sometimes, you need to post an issue here to get resolution, but if we cannot post these issues in an appropriate manner, then there wont be any resolution.
1--NO ACCUSATIONS ALLOWED IN THREAD TITLES. Seems simple enough, right? From this point forward, when you post a thread here, there will be no more "so-and-so is a crook/thief/scammer/con-artist/etc etc etc" allowed. Instead, let's focus on the transaction, not the person. Most times, these issues come from miscommunication and not because someone is a genuine criminal. So, titles such as "bad transaction with ____" will be acceptable instead. Let's focus on the problem, not on slinging mud at each other.
2--NO INSTIGATING WILL BE PERMITTED. You are free to post any relevant facts you have, and also your own personal experiences with the parties mentioned in threads. But no more instigating posts will be tolerated. If you heard something from someone who knows someone who lives next door to someone who grooms the seller's mom's dog, that does not qualify as facts or experience. Those who post only to instigate will be receiving infractions accordingly.
3--NO INSULTING WILL BE TOLERATED AT ALL! Again, pretty self-explanatory. First time someone insults another forum member, it will be an automatic one-week ban. Second offense will be three week's vacation from the forum, and third time will be a permanent vacation from here. This has gotten way out of hand and it WILL NOT be tolerated.
4--NO PERSONAL INFO IS TO BE POSTED IN THREADS. There have been occasions when personal info has been passed on, but it does not belong in a thread. If you have personal info to pass along, please use the PM function for it. Personal info includes real names, addresses, phone numbers, date of birth, place of employment(when different from the business you have an issue here with), and so on. We can search feedback by a member's screen name, so we dont need their real name posted. This goes back to working the problem, and not turning a thread into a bashing session. If you have an issue with a buyer or seller and need more contact info, you are by all means welcome to post and ask for anyone to PM it to you if they have it, but please, lets keep everyone's private info private.
5--WHEN POSTING A THREAD....you need to include relevant information. Who, what, when, where, etc etc. When posting about a transaction that took place on this forum, be sure to include a link to the thread where the sale happened. As moderators, we dont always have the time to search through all the threads and posts until we find the one you are referring to, so this will help us to assist you much better.
Finally, keep this in mind, we are here to help resolve issues. When facts need to be clarified, such as certain laws or other issues that we have knowledge of, those will be posted for your benefit where possible. There is, however, no guarantee that a moderator will handle your business for you. We are not the police. We are here to assist. But know this--if you post up a thread, and you get suggestions from us, TAKE THEM. I cannot tell you how many times we see someone get scammed by another member, and when they dont follow through on their complaint, that member goes on to scam others. The feedback section is not here for a mod to solve your problem, but rather for us to help you solve your problem. This requires you to act on your own behalf at times. I have spent countless hours tracking down further info for members before--only to see them not do anything. There are too many people doing bad business and getting away with it, only to do someone else the same way down the road. Let's use this section the way it was intended and we all will benefit from it.
As always, if you have questions, shoot me a PM, I am happy to help. This section is for resolving disputed issues, folks, it is not for talking trash, insulting others, or branding someone a scammer simply because they didnt communicate with you properly.
