Spark plugs ?

There are exactly 2 other threads dedicated to spark plugs but neither fully answers my questions.

1.) How does the methanol affect what spark plugs to use?
If it cools down the combustion chamber, doesn't it enable use to use a more pocket friendly ngk-9 plugs (to an extent)?
or is it the pressure that it has to deal with?


2.) At what boost level do you guys have problems with the 9s?

3.)At what boost level do you guys have problems with the 10s?

I've been running 11.5s and had problems with cold starts, I'm thinking about downgrading to 10-10.5s but was just curious how much power anyone got from the 9s.
it's so tempting....so much easier to attain.


I've hit 500 whp on c16 and it isn't satisfying.
I want to be able to do it on pump(and meth).
I want 500whp ALL the time.

On 10's we have run 578rwhp(on dyno) and in reality its well over 600rwhp on road due to higher boost it holds there

Pump fuel & water "AI" injected, and the plug is never ever a problem being too hot, ambient conditions around 5 deg C tested down to (for cold starts). The kinda testing have run is around 60 to 80 full throttle runs in real world to top of 4th gear and about 30 dyno pulls (need to check exact figure on dyno number of pulls but its in that range).

The plugs i use mostly now are
B*EGV (10, 10.5 & 11 for low cost customer option)
R7420-10 (or 11) for high quality option ($150aus for a 2 rotor set)

**ign set up:
Crane Hi6 and LX-92 per leading plug, trailing stock transistor and bosch coil**
