IDC Summer Module Development Discussion
I'm not sure where in the development of this summer device AQM is, and additionally, I am no expert in electrical engineering.
As a user, I think it would be the BEST if your summer worked with a very simple computer interface. Just hook it up using a USB or 9-pin I/O connector or whatever and have the user specify three things.
1) primary injector size
2) secondary injector size
3) desired flow rate of AI at MAX flow through both primary and secondary
The benefits would be HUGE
- VERY easy to use, the user simply types in a number value for the injector sizes, could be any value, no need to have a scalable **** that is less accurate.
- VERY easy to tune, the AI will ALWAYS be proportional to the fuel. You could practically ignore the system in terms of tuning, just set the value you want injecting, and tune your car as usual, except now for some magical reason (god bless AI) your AITs, EGTs, and knock are through the floor. no brainer tuning. HUGE ++++ for a large majority of the market, very marketable as no tuning required.
To me, this is the easiest and most robust type of configuration that you could have, from an end user standpoint.
I initially posted this in the HFS-5 Q&A thread, because I was under the impression that it was part of that system as it was introduced in the "...concept explained..." thread, but I think that that was the wrong thread to get a discussion going on the summer module.
I really think that what I've proposed is THE answer, someone smarter than me please weigh in.

the reason i started this thread was because he said in the "Q&A" that it ought to be out soon, and i thought that it was already out
I was under the impression that it was still under development based on that.
Initially, i was under the impression that it was shipping with the HFS-5 kit.
after going back and rereading, he never said that it would be included with the HFS-5, but that it should follow it shortly in tems or release date and that it'd be inexpensive.
I dunno.
Thanks for the info though.

I too bought their new kit and was told to expect one of these either with the kit or shortly after. My car is standard 550, 850, and I need this little doo-dad. If it is ready/developement is finished and testing is also complete I'd like mine. :-)

The summer is not part of the HFS-5 kit. It is an add-on device which I supply free to the RX7 users.
It will not be an item available separately. I cannot justify the cost of the development as big_rizzlah suggested, complete hardware/software equipped.
The summer is already designed, and as soon as I get time, I will build them for you (for those who have the HFS-5) individually.
Meanwhile, the system can run based on the secondary injector signal.

Thanks for the clarification Richard. . .
you were actually already perfectly clear after I reread the previous threads, I was just being retarded. . .
nonetheless, we appreciate you adding even further clarity.
would you like us to start a list of RX-7 users who ordered the HFS-5 already?
if so, i'll start it off
1)big_rizzlah (HFS-5 is on the way!!)
again, thank you

Yes please, I would like to get to know the users and get them started on discussion about installation matters, tank position, pump location etc.
I can either continue here or the thread I have started. I support we can run both together. The other thread will be an more general and this thread specifically for the summer.
Perhaps you can help to get thing started. tank location and pump location is very important. We have supply 6 Meters (over 18 feet of hose with the kit.
Let me which thread we should start the installation on.

We could probably get a new thread going for install ideas. Personally I plan on using the washer fluid bottle. I have not decided about pump location yet.
