I got to the end of the thread, and was wondering if one of these can be hooked up to further atomize using a regular water methanol kit. Will 100 psi on the fluid side cause problems with 13 psi on the air side?

I was thinking about having Defined tune it but there pricing is pretty high. I want to say they charge around $175 a hour. RX7 Store only charges $100 a hour and they've tuned my car before and did a good job.

Hey I was going to do this on a Skyline with an RB25/30, but ended up busting the motor, since then I have bought a RX7 S1 drag car with s4 13bbpt. I'm going to be running 8 2000cc injectors with full meth system. Looking to make an easy 700 hp or more. Turbo will be around the GT42 size. I'm not going to be using an intercooler.
I was thinking of using this system to further enhance the cooling effect and make the turbo a little more efficient.
Has anyone used this on a full meth system? Could I use this for full meth spray or could a little water be beneficial? I have seen on a few drag cars with an injector placed before the turbo to do the same sort of thing, I have seen a backfire too, blowing the piping off..... So guess the water would be helpful to prevent a piping explosion.. ;-)

Ah good to know about the cooling capacity of water... Has anyone actually done this type of system with a full meth car? I doubt most people prob have, just be interesting to know.

Great thread. Thanks to the OP for the hard work and effort to bring this to the board and thanks to all those who input more info.
Does the positioning of the nozzle on the side of an intake pipe rather than inline with the air flow cause any issues?
Seems like the spray is inches from hitting the opposite side of the intake pipe.
Is there any issue of the water injection hitting the side of the pipe and possibly beading up causing larger droplets? Or does the intake of air "grab" the water before it can contact the side of the intake pipe and bead up?

Entire assembly would be # MWM 2460 ** A
** = "B1" for nickel-plated brass, or T8 for stainless

Visited with a nice gentleman this morning from PNR about the above nozzle.
He thought that an internal mix might atomize better than an external mix.
And the wide angle full cone would be a good choice.
They are a little steeper in price.
$115.00 for the nozzle and body for the nickel-plated brass.

^ The issue with internal mix nozzles is the air psi directly effects the liquid flow. As such, with a progressive rise in both air and liquid, it doesn't mean the liquid flow will progressively rise. In fact, most internal mix nozzles flow less as the air pressure is increased. Not good for our needs.
External mix nozzles flow the same no matter the air pressure. The air simply atomizes the droplets more as its pressure increases.

It would work as long as sealing was utilized. The key with post turbo is that it must be sealed as it see's boost. The way the atomization nozzle caps screw to the body would make it hard. Personally, I see no need. I beleive pre-turbo to be superior, especially for mid-frame turbo's.

I had Dad's Custom Inctercoolers make a custom aluminum tank for my water injection kit. I sent him the specs and I am very happy with the results. Donny is an awesome dude. He even made the tank twice becuase of an error in the specs. His customer satisfaction is nothing short of awesome!!
My method was easy. I created a "mock-up" tank from cardboard to get the fitment down. I then measured the model and sent in the specs. This tank is made from 3/16" aluminum and as you can see, looks great.
All is ready to mount up. I'm just waiting for my custom K&N air filter. Due to my space issues for a filter, I had to get creative. It will hopefully arrive soon.

Capacity is around 1.2 gallons.
I'm mounting it where the ABS unit used to be.
Utillizing the ABS mounting bracket, It's a pretty easy fit. If I removed the bracket, I could have gotten a little more capacity, but mounting it would have been really tough. 1 gallon is adequate for my needs and the ease of mounting is nice.
I used -6 AN for the air feed from my turbo elbow and -4 AN for the air and water feed to the nozzle. Each air feed has it's own source and there is no "T"ing in the system. All AN fittings with teflon braided line.
