Before AI? After AI??

Can anybody post up whp camparisons on the same set up with the same amount of boost before and after AI? And what % of meth, alky, or water you are running.. Sorry if there is already this info posted up somewhere, I looked but could not find. Any input is apreciated, Thanks

if making additional power using AI is you goal and you are wondering what can you really add w AI....

assuming you ditch the 375+ stock turbo setup for something that will flow more air you will find yourself knock limited. that is, running pump gas 93 octane you will find you can't turn up the boost and get more air without engine-killing knock.

prior to AI racegas was the answer but due to cost generally was only run on the dyno or track.

racegas or AI allows you to turn up the boost from 17 to whatever the turbo can put out.

for instance, i made about 400 at 14 psi without AI and 498 at 20 psi with no knock on 93 octane.

I understand AI, race gas, and the whole detonation thing, just no actual expereince with AI. Maybe this will help. Currently I am running a T88H-34D, so single already. At 28psi my car makes 604 whp. Now all I run in the car is Sunoco 110, needless to say I dont drive it very often, but like to every once in a while. Now what Im wondering is that if I use AI say 30% meth, will I see the same power at 28psi if the same sunoco 110 fuel is used with it. Now I know the biggest reason behind AI is to be able to say good buy higher octane fuel, but just wondering if there are any other benefits like hp increase due to lower intake charge temps from the meth or alky ect. Thanks for your input

that's a great question.

providing you retunre for alcohol's combustion speed, inject enough alcohol to replace the racegas you remove you will make at least as much if not more power than racegas.

you will also assume less risk since gasonline ignites at around 450 and alcohol is over 800 F. in addition your charge air temps will drop thru the floor w alcohol.

I am in the market for an AI system so I guess we will see. May be a little while before I get everything done but will post dyno sheets etc etc. Thanks again for your input.

The difference is only shown if you have control of your fuel map to take fuel out. Otherwise, you will be running too rich when the Meth injects. Increasing timing benefits and knock elimination is noticed. Just stay away from adding water to the formula, stick with Methanol.
