Exclamation Bad location? Or Bigger Injector?

So this is a log I took with my rtek 2.1, what you see below is a 2nd and 3rd gear pull. Please disregard the lean AFR's, I currently am in the process of tuning it.

It got as high as 68.75*C (123*F) within only several seconds while injecting 380cc of windshield wiper fluid pre-turbo. I'm running a stock tmic. Should I be worried?

Running the 1/4 mile yesterday it got as high as 170F in 4th. Doesn't seem like it's doing much.

What were you seeing before you switched to pre intercooler? And what size is your intercooler?

Thanks

I thought it was common knowledge that water doesn't do much or anything at all for IAT and EGTs and that the magic is in it's ability to reduce or eliminate knock all together

Maybe so, that's not the impression I got from reading the forums. Hopefully the AI gurus will chime in.

Are you sure that stock TMIC isn´t working like interheater?

It is very possible that your injection is doing job just fine, but stock TMIC is heating it up again.

Agreed...I'm not hackin up my engine bay for a few more horses, I'll just have to keep an eye out and make sure I'm running more water.

p.s. I noticed in other logs that temps only seemed to jump in between shifts, while in gear temps would either remain the same or drop but in a tenth of a second it takes to shift they would jump 10-20F.. Weird.

After looking at your sig it appears you have tons of mods including standalone ect.... now why even make this thread when you know that the first thing people do is get rid of the TMIC as they are junk. the STI ones are better than the FC's and yet they even get rid of the TMIC. heat is not your friend so unless u have money pooring out of your CREVAS i would suggest just listening to some good advice that people try to give u

I know all about the crappy TMIC, I also have seen successful AI with no intercooler. I want the best of both worlds. You have better throttle response, faster spool, and less boost drop with a TMIC (my turbo lag is practically neglible). If all I need to do is adjust where I'm injecting my water/meth to keep my AIT's down then that's what I'll do. And yes I know about the VMIC option as well...

The factory sensor at the elbow right before the throttle body. It doesn't throw a code but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't reading 100% correct..it does have 190,000 miles on it.

380 cc seems a tad low compared to what others are running, Seems like most are recomending injecting around 15-25% of fuel when running meth ( maybe a bit less for wiperfuid depending on meth contens)
