Auxillary methanol fuel system?

I had a thought of running 2 extra injectors with a separate fuel system to run pure methanol along with pump fuel in the original fuel system.

I run 1000cc primarys and 1680cc secondarys. Would this idea work? The goal would be to raise the octane rating of pump fuel to be able to run higher boost. It would only come in on high boost and be controlled by the ECU which will just treat them as 2 additional injectors.

The car is a stripped out but still road legal car so it is normally run at around 1bar (15psi ish) I run it at 1.4bar on high boost with 50/50 water meth system at the moment. The turbo is a T51SPL so is capable of higher boost.

Its just an idea so would apreciate your thoughts

I am ddoing something similar. I am going to use the generic pwm output off my haltech and run it to my FJO solenoid driver which powers my solenoid. A handful of ohter people have done this as well.

In theory you could just get 2 extra injectors and run them off of you secondary injectors signal but you would have to make sure you size your meth injectors correctly or else you will end up with to much or to little meth. You could also setup an additional output from your ecu to operate a switch that would turn on at what ever boost level you wanted. This way you could run your standard setup at low boost levels but when the boost increased, the meth system would be activated.

All this depends on your ecu. What ecu are you running? What kind of outputs does it have?

I run an HKS Fcon pro ecu and it does have the ability to run 2 extra injectors itself so thats not really an issue. I just wanted to get some thoughts on whether it was a good idea and just see if anyone has any experience with it.

The next few questions would be what size injectors to go for and best placement of them (I have a spare panspeed elbow with 2 injectors in it) but I guess I'll have to a bit of research on it.

Do you know of any previous threads on here? I have searched but cant find anything.

to the best of my knowledge no one has run extra fuel injectors with meth on this forum.
