Alcohol / Meth Injection Tank Location (FD3S)?

Was wondering where you guys are putting your tanks. I've searched around, but didn't find too many pictures of mounting locations. I wanted to keep it as stealth as possible.

Thanks for the Help!

People sometimes use the wiper fluid tank or the rear wiper fluid tank for a water/meth source. My original plan was to use my front wiper fluid tank and use a rear tank for my wipers. In the end, I went with a tank in the trunk and it ended up being easier to refill and monitor. I'd recommend you do the same.

Stealth was important to me, so I based what system I bought on whether or not I'd be able to hide it. In the end I went with a coolingmist system that incorporates the pump into the tank. After I cut the storage pocket out of the bins, they fit perfectly and hide everything.

Howerton engineering also has some amazing tank setups. Had I known about them before, I would have probably bought a system from them. They are extremely pricey though.

only thing about that is the rear wiper fluid tank is fairly small. i was planning on running the AEM meth kit on high settings too. i dont think it would last very long.

I wanted to not use my trunk space if possible.

@prew - hmm... that's pretty interesting. Might consider mounting my tank in there.

Pester SBG to make a custom UK style large rear washer fluid tank. They have it on their mind, but who knows when it might happen or if! More interest is better!

The stock US hatch reservoir is a tiny-*** thing:

If you can find one, some European and Canadian and JDM models had a huge hatch reservoir (it holds up to a gallon) that was designed to supply headlight sprayers:

i did the same as prew. the stealthy look is what i was goin for and finding a tank to fit in rear trunk was the trick. brian from bdc motorsport located a tank that julio from alky control sells its a 2 gallon slim tank. with a lil mod it sits perfect and the lid is still fucntional.

Going with a custom aluminum tank in the bay. I'll be using a manual preturbo WI kit so the rear isnt a good option. Personally I would rather have it in the front anyway. I'm also not a big fan of plastic tanks in the engine bay.

Yea I ran on the USDM tank. I ran out fast. I bought a EU one but ended up going with what I have now instead because I couldn't easily check the level on the rear wiper tank.

FYI, it took me well over a year to find a used large stock tank. They are not all that common. I would take another route.

I honestly don't think it's worth it. Trust me Simon. I wanted everything on my car to look OEMish. The inconvenience isn't worth the trouble, especially if your kit shoots alot of water/meth. Just go with an aftermarket tank. Everything is just so much easier. Even pouring into the stock rear wiper tank is annoying if your trunk is fairly full.

I wanted stealth after having an aem tank in the hatch (last fd). I hated the way it looked and the number of ppl that would ask why I was spraying water kind of bothered me.

I used the stock tank (Canadian tank) plus I mounted a cylinder under the car that holds a few more liters for extra capacity.

The pump is also mounted under the car. Basically the washer tank is the main storage and also convienient. I get no audible noise from the pump too

I've seen it done here before but I will take a picture to show where I mounted it.

I have the Canadian one but seeing as they are NLA I didn't feel like drilling it up. I made a mold to make mine out of Vinylester resin which should hold up well to the WW and allow me some extra capacity because I removed the space that the WW motors took up capacity is 7L.

The rear euro tank is the best option... I have one myself. Unfortunately they are NLA but it may be possible to find a used one floating around. They have a large capacity (2.5+ gal) and take up no space in the car. If anyone wants installed pics, let me know... it's pretty slick.

I'd love to see where your pump is mounted under the car

Here is my setup in the hatch. Made aluminum brackets that are bolted to the floor in a couple of factory holes/studs and then used nutserts for a couple more mounting points.

Here is the pic of the pump. The extra tank I made up sits just above it. I couldn't get under the car far enough to get the angle. It was made with 3inch pipe, and is near 20inches in length. That gave me almost 4 additional liters.
