tuning problems

here we go guys, last week I got my car tuned at RRR (Nelson siviero) at Santa Ana. I just finished installing my AEM water/meth before the tuning. I just put on a bigger turbo also (GT4088r). Nelson recommended me larger secondaries (2000cc instead of 1680cc i had before), high volume fuel pump. When I dropped off the car, i put 50/50 water methanol mix in the tank. Later that evening they told me that my car is done tuning. What confuses me now, Nelson told me that he drained all of the water/meth mix and put regular water in the tank. He said that the Methanol blend will not gain anymore power than straight water. Is this true? I forgot to mention he tuned the car with straight 110 octane fuel as I requested. the car put down 511 whp@22psi on their dynojet. What pisses me off also, i went ahead and installed the Injection monitor gauge from AEM today. As im boosting the car to check if the gauge works, nothing happens. Later on I found out that the AEM water meth controller is set to turn on at 25psi and shut off at 35psi? WTF. As soon as I lower it down to 12psi and shut off at 25psi, the gauge started to work. Does this mean, I have to get the car tuned again??? Im kinda dissapointed at their dyno tuning. It seems like they just took a short cut and turn off my AEM water/meth. Im planning to just run straight water. I put the 550cc injector that comes with the kit. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would just run your setup the way it was tuned and add the water injection. Basically the water injection will help prevent detonation by cooling the intake. If you want to tune for all out power you would tune the timing and air fuel ratios with the water or meth injection, but I've never been a big fan off that on the rotary.

There are many different variations and ratios that people use for different reasons. Obviously straight water is the cheapest to run. If you are going to run water, use distilled water.

Meth isnt inherently used to make more power. You can make more because it alleviates knock, allowing you to push the envelope. However, this isnt a safe way to use meth.

Meths best use is as a safety blanket giving knock resistance to a setup thats already "stable". Using a meth/water mix also has the benefit of steam cleaning internals :-D
