single fuel pump ok for lower HP motors?

I have a fresh streetport motor, running a fairly small turbo- t04B, was thinking of swapping out my primaries for 1600's as I already have 1600 secondaries and swapping my supra pump for a Bosch pump.

I know a turbo change is in the works and if I do that a 2nd pump is in order, but I dont think I can swing that until the end of the summer so in the meantime I would like to try the E85.

Im basically looking to get 18lbs of boost on E85 and be conservative.
Do you think a single pump would do the job?

I would have to say no. If you are planning on upgrading your turbo you might as well add the second pump now and be done with it.

If you goal is 400whp or less one Bosch pump should be perfectly fine for those four 1600's.... but do put in a fuel pressure sensor and pipe it into your ECU for logging.

spot on. one decent pump will be fine.
Watch your fuel pressures and you will know if you going to run into problems or not.

im thinking its probably best to just run the 2 pumps , I have the rest of the fuel system in place so why not complete the final piece of the puzzle.

what kind of filter are you guys running?

10 is generally what you use for regular petrol. The stock mazda is a paper filter so I really dont know. Its your project so use what you want. I haven't had any fuel problems. Make sure your filter is compatible with alcohol.

If you're going to do the 400 whp on E85 you might be right on the line. If you have a fuel pressure gauge I guess you could give it a shot. Just watch for the fuel pressure drop. The fact that you need nearly 50% more fuel for E85 makes it a tough call...

Rob i say we just put the dual bosch 044's in there and run SS line from tank to motor. that way you never need to upgrade fuel system stuff again till you pass the 700whp mark.

thats what im thinking, let me put some money on the side for iginition and fuel upgrades. If I can get 400hp with my current set up that will keep me happy for a little while.
